The tactics but more importantly the application of the tactics were absolutely spot on today. Chelsea were always going to dominate possession and they did get into a lot of good positions to create a scoring opportunity but our marking of players in the box to deny those opportunities was excellent. Fantastic defensive performance.

Really hope Moussa can stay injury free for a run of games. He was excellent for us today.
-
He’s been with us for 2 weeks, having joined a team on a depressing run of results. He is a player no doubt. Once match fitness improves and knowing his team mates a bit more you’ll see it.

Tricky one... if Fraser now starts league matches does Macca start the cup quarter final?? 🤔
-
Forgive me for not wanting to revisit the Manchester 9 but I can't recall any that he should have saved.
-
Fraser hasn't really been tested in any of the games so far. Fraser will play Thursday, could be an interesting topic if he has a standout game, for now it's Macca as #1.

3 of the 4 first half goals weren’t down to having 10 men on the pitch, it was due to piss poor defending. The 2nd half was a VAR shit show. The biggest joke being the frozen screen Dean was looking at that gave no evidence for him to change his on field decision of a penalty and no card.

For Ralph's sake I hope he doesn't end up at that snake pit. What a horrible club. Judging an inexperienced manager on a window of 6 games, ridiculous. Top 4 and a cup final in his first season. Shed load of money spent, bedding them in reasonably well, a few injuries to contend with and Werner having a touch of the Heskeys. 5 points off where they would ideally be, plenty of time to get that back. Stinks of boardroom meddling, I hope they reap what they sow.

It's Jack Wheelchair, FFS. Technically brilliant in his late teens and early 20s, glass ankles since.

What a performance from Diallo. Great engine, good tackler, so composed for such a young player playing the hardest position on the pitch. He’s only going to get better too.

Position that you would most want to improve in the starting XI

Ryan has been immense for us, through thick and thin. We need cover and an eye to the future at left back. Romain Perraud at Brest is eye catching, loads of potential and at a price we could afford. -
Of the 4 clubs listed we probably are the most likely destination. He'll probably end up at Newcastle or somewhere similar.
-
City were able to create an overload against Ryan because Vestergaard was slow to return to position. The talent in City will more often than not profit from that situation. If we lose Bertrand at the end of this season we would need 2 left backs, we seem to be struggling to get one. Sign him up.

Half the team wouldn’t be available for selection if you were that risk adverse to managing injuries and knocks.
-
FFS, terrible timing for the lad
-
Agreed, seeing Tripper play at left back was a joke. Great player.
-
All they want is a level playing field... bless.

A delicious irony that you missed the target thread with this post

The January transfer window doesn't start.... like most windows it opens, then stays open until Jim White comes along and SLAMS it shut.

our form over the past 12 months suggests otherwise

I've seen plenty of black and Asian road crew and manual construction workers. Seriously, give your head a shake. -

Not true. Unless you are counting the Police as one of the top jobs in the country. -
Highly unlikely given his departure from us but would fit nicely as cover for Armstrong / Redmond.
