Tall Paul scores again in a 1:0 win for Trab. And SAA provides an assist for Strasbourg’s first goal in a 3:2 defeat.

Right, who shall we nominate to post or e-mail S-Clarke’s analysis to Dragan and the rest of the board? And Spors. I nominate MLG.

Do we know whether ours is on the profit? I, too, believe it usually is. I thought the guaranteed fee was £36m; and another £6m possible but not guaranteed. If the sell-on applies to the profit on the guaranteed fees only, the profit is £36m and we get 20% of that, your £6-7m. And the £6m and the £8m in my example do not get taken into account. But do we know or merely assume that is how it will work? Sorry to be a pain. I could say that I was asking for a friend who likes chewy sweets and apparently lives near the sea but he might not be interested in the answer.

Does anyone know exactly how our sell-on clause will work? Is it a %age on his future sale price or the profit from that price and what Everton paid? Are the adds-on taken into account? If so, how? What will we get if in future he gets sold for, say £72m plus an achievable £8m. (Assume we have already received the extra £6m from Everton.) The £8m will not have had a chance of being earned if we receive our sell-on at the point of Everton’s sale of him to another team. I genuinely do not know. Can anyone enlighten us, please? Thnx

Moussa Djenepo’s decline continues - he has just completed a free transfer from Standard Liege to Esteghlal, an Iranian team. Sad, really. I loved his attitude and occasional brilliance but we coached that out of him and he became Bambi on ice; at least the weather in Iran will melt the ice. Cue the modern version of the Egyptian Sand Dance (one for our older readers). https://getfootballnewsbene.com/former-southampton-winger-set-to-depart-standard-liege-for-the-second-time-with-iran-the-destination/

Just for interest, how much did we sell him for?

Bedders impressing at Porto: two clean sheets and https://sportwitness.co.uk/player-dubbed-the-king-as-he-impresses-everyone-following-southampton-exit/ 👍👏👏👏

No thanks; he’s between 1” and 2” taller than Wellington and not even as tall as 5’9”. I know it does not matter so much for a winger but if we are to get another Brazilian I’d rather get one as tall as Guly. And one who contributes as much to our promotion as Guly did but Spors and Lederer should know more about him than I do; perhaps he will.

Keeping Track of the Contracts 2024-25

Wally Nutter. A perfect signing for a pantomime club. Oh no he isn’t. Oh yes he is. -
Go back to your old dugout.

Did you miss the pivotal part he played in the move for our goal at Northampton then? He showed good strength to hold off the defender and receive a long ball forward from McCarthy, which he then laid off very nicely to Fernandes. That is the presence up front we've been missing. Archer, not Downs, passed to Fernandes for our goal against the Cobblers.

👏👏👏 Hmmmmm. I look forward to reading about your erm lessons in the British (or Canadian) gutter press. 🤔🤓 -
Tall Paul scored for Trabzonspor yesterday in a 1:0 win. Good to see him getting among the goals again in Turkey.

Linked with two defenders: https://sportwitness.co.uk/manchester-united-bournemouth-and-southampton-all-make-approaches-for/ https://sportwitness.co.uk/wolves-and-newcastle-united-told-e20-25m-could-seal-signing/ Both look unlikely to me.

A load of old cobblers. They’re good enough to make the boots if not to wear them. Don’t underestimate them but select a good enough side to get the win and rest a few key players for Ipswich; some game time for MF and DD and RS. 3:0 to Saints, with Macca commanding the box, catching the high balls (not punching them) and keeping a clean sheet. We march on.
