I think Dubai is more pro western and wants to encourage tourists, not scare them off.

I am trying to work out how that is an immature response so please enlighten me. As for attendances we have been in decline every season since relegation and nothing will change until we improve our performances on the pitch. Don't you think that because we finished in the bottom five last season this has had an overall effect on this seasons attendances because I certainly do. The more you struggle and fall the more fans you will lose.

That's why they have made it a massive tourist attraction with everything on offer, this to offset the loss of the oil which will dry up soon. I suppose they didn't bank on the credit crunch...

I think it's too early to start, wait until kick off and try again.

Nine games failed to attract 20,000+ fans, that's almost half. The problem was there was always false dawns, get a few decent results then a few more fans would return only for us to put in a dismal performance at St mary's. The disgruntled fans would then stay away until the next rush of adrenalin. Our home record of W9, D5, L9 didn't help. Since relegation we have had a steady decline in attendances year on year.

Have to agree with this, lack of success over the last few seasons coupled with dire results at St Mary's has seen our fanbase dwindle each season.

We need something to cheer us up :shock:

If Lowe and Wilde left tomorrow the missing 5,000 will not be back, the only way they will come back is if we improve the football and results and move into the top six, maintain that position and even challenge for a top two place. This is highly unlikely due to us being skint and relying on young cheap players, the same situation we will still be in even if Crouch or AN Other should be in charge and without the necessary funds to change otherwise. Results = success = increase in attendances.

Please tell me you are not saying Derby had a hatful of chances because if you are then you clearly are referring to a past season and not the game in August. The only real chance they had was in the second half just before we scored. We had several one on ones in the first half alone, hit the woodwork on a couple of times and if it wasn't for Carroll the game would of been dead and buried long before we actually scored.

Incorrect, we were 18th and 3rd bottom (although only two points from 15th place) when he took over but he still had enough time and a transfer window to do what many expected him to do but in which he ultimately failed.

I'll go with that team, I agree about Gerrard being the better all-round player, both Gerrard and Lampard have proved they can't work together so one needs to be dropped but it wouldn't surprise me if it's Lampard that starts and Gerrard is on the bench. SWP looked lively in his last game so it would be good to see what he can do tonight. A tight 2-1 win for England.

Here's another for you, Norwich in the nineties finished 3rd and were relegated 2 years later. As I say it can happen to anyone and I have now given you two instances. No doubt you will make an excuse for Norwich without substance just like Man Utd. ](*,)
