So where the hell do I find this t-shirt?? I wouldn't mind one to wear when I'm reffing our company's fun footy tournament
-
I don't get this McIntyre bloke, why does he scream all the time??
-
Now this is a perfect opportunity for AV. With 5 kits to choose from we could end up with a shirt that only 20.1% of fans want to wear!!

Is Cortese deliberately trying to annoy the fans.
Big Bad Bob replied to landford.saint's topic in The Saints
How about this :- Rumours of Cortese's disatisfaction with Pardew ***** Newcastle's ears. Pardew tells Cortese he's a **** so as to get sacked. Cortese sacks Pardew then realises/is informed of a Newcastle impending approach, Corteste rescinds the sacking waiting for the official approach and the compensation thereafter. Newcastle bide there time, knowing that Pardew will go sooner rather than later. 3 months later Cortese has had enough and sacks Pardew again BUT puts in a clause that says he has to wait 3 months before he gets another job. All IMHO -

Having been a regular visitor to Soton Children's unit and GOSH over that last year I can def say that Soton rates above GOSH in my eyes. The treatment of my daughter at Soton has been top notch. It's been bad enough driving from Poole to Soton when she had one of her extended stays, to changed that to Bristol or Oxford would make it very hard.. -

Adkins: "There is scope to dip into the loan market"
Big Bad Bob replied to trousers's topic in The Saints
Agree, but bringing a player in on a large® salary will have a knock on effect on the other players. Rickie will suddenly want more, Adam will want more...... -
Adkins: "There is scope to dip into the loan market"
Big Bad Bob replied to trousers's topic in The Saints
Cortese actually said that the "sale" of AO-C in the transfer window didn't help us getting players in as other clubs assumed we would be getting the £10m and upped their priced accordingly. Player's agents would have got greedy too and demanded huge salaries. We want the players, doesn't mean we should be held to ransom over them. -
Dave Nugent on a free how about it?
Big Bad Bob replied to K,Billy's supersound's topic in The Saints
I think we'll have to agree to disagree on this one. As a striker his goals to games ratio is not *THAT* good (273 games 68 goals). I've not seen him play, why would I, his only sub appearance for England resulted in a goal he "stole" off of Defoe (or was it Owen). Another Dean Ashton for mine.. -

has anyone actually ever got £30k a week at Saints, last highest earner I heard was BT on £18.5k and that was just before we were relegated!! -

Oh yes, I bet Michael Owen absolutely beat the crap out of his knee in the dressing room afterwards... -

The difference between Southampton and Brighton...
Big Bad Bob replied to Dibden Purlieu Saint's topic in The Saints
Alright, I've got to say this :- Because of the hype, because of what the neutrals thoughts, because of the pre-season build up, because of who we are and our history teams will *ALWAYS* play better against us and try and frustrate us. We are seen as the billy big ****** of this league and the other teams want to take our scalp, even a draw against us is seen as a massive result. ie Notts County home, Hartlepool away etc. This makes it much harder for us to be as consistent as some fans would like. At the start of the season (not so much now) Brighton were small fry and nothing to be concerned about, just another League One team, teams didn't paly up to them so much (it happens) they've started winning and have that winning mentality, they are now putting consistent runs together, they are in the winning habit!! Lets see if they can keep that up to the end of the season, if they can I doff my cap to them, I just get the feeling that they may find things a bit harder now as teams will see them as a big scalp and start to try just that little bit harder... FWIW I think Poyet is doing a fantastic job, he is seen as the reason for Leeds being so succesful under Wise, Brighton getting him was a real coup BUT it was a gamble, one that worked, true. WC :- you suggested that Adkins can't be a very good manager because of the Puncheon situation, so does that mean that all the managers at his previous clubs weren't very good either? -
The difference between Southampton and Brighton...
Big Bad Bob replied to Dibden Purlieu Saint's topic in The Saints
Wrong, wrong, wrong :- 12/9/2009 we'd played 7 games. Got 5 pts. 12/9/2010 when Adkins was appointed (actually I'm counting the game played on the 18th Sept here too) we'd played 7 games and got 5pts!! F & A was 5v8 for '09 and 5v7 for '10. -

Big Bad Bob replied to Dibden Purlieu Saint's topic in The Saints
Hah, pwned (as they say in iternet vernacular). So depsite the damned awful start to the season and the 3 games lost in transition (that's a good idea for a film title methinks) we're actually faring better than at the same stage last season. Our main striker isn't firing on all cylinders yet we have scored more goals. Out defense is leakier than a rusty sieve yet we have conceded less goals. Of course we still have our main promotion rivals to play so the stats could well be skewed but there you go.. -
If you're referring to the "Dark Forces in action?" comment I wouldn't suggest that that meant that the OP thought that the reporter had invented the twitter post. Rather that the reporter is being "fed" by the "Dark Forces" in an attempt to destabilise the club. And why choose a Saints' fan in such a "respected" position? a) because he would get excited at the "scoop" and pass it on with all haste b) Because he's a Saints' fan and will be believed!
-
Anyone else starting to worry about fixture pile-up ?
Big Bad Bob replied to alpine_saint's topic in The Saints
Now if that isn't a completely warped way of trying to twist a perfectly sensible statement!! -
And?? Seriously how many "Saints' Fans" on here have been fed a complete load of BS and passed it on as gospel?
-
Because it unsettles the fans and unsettled fans start putting pressure on Cortese to deny the rumours (yet again) and then fans start questioning Cortese at matches which results in a -ve atmosphere which affects the players which affctes Saints' league form.....you get my drift Who would be close to the club that would know these type of things that would quite happily divulge it to a "non" person? I don't totally believe the rumour (again) but then again I'm not going to dimiss out of hand the fact that the club could change hands at any point. No-one knows how the Liebherrs feel about the club except NC himself
