  1. The lino up our end was truly appalling. Waigo was three yards onside at the end, didn't matter as the daft t**t still missed but even so.
  2. Do we have any refs on here? The Norwich throw in that went wrong. The lad took it, and it slipped out of his hands but came into play. Rightly the thrower didn't touch it as it was in play, so his team mate and one of ours both went for it. At this point the ref blows up and gave the Norwich player another go at the throw. Now to my mind although the ball slipped through his hands he still attempted a proper throw in so the ball is in play, otherwise its a foul throw and it goes to the opposition? Am I right? Surely he can't give them another go? Its not mini soccer FFS!
  3. I've said all along that this season will be about survival and consolidation, and anything above 5th from bottom will be a bonus. Nothing has changed my view, yes seven games unbeaten is play off form but we were so far behind the pack to begin with that it would take a monumental second half of the season to get there. Personally I am really enjoying being a Saints fan for the first time ina long time, I saw a cracking game of football today between two top sides, not the best result, but oh well worse things have happened, 3 points at Hartlepool and today will be pretty much forgotten. Alp, Glasgow etc, carry on knee jerking and I'll carry on enjoying supporting my team.
  4. Not exactly SAints related but not sure which forum this fits in, just been surfing around and found this website http://tims92.webs.com/tims92home.htm May be of interest to some, I thought the panoramic pics section is excellent.
  5. Is 'whoooshing' a mod an infractable offence?
  6. I know its personal opinion, and everyone is entitled to theirs, but Im amazed you havent got Rupert Lowe in there somewhere...
  7. Anyone had any luck with cheap train tickets? Best I can find is about £60 from soton central
  8. This was brought up a few weeks ago. Apparently AP has already stated that KD will be a club captain all the while he is in charge, but that he would like an outfield skipper who can get more involved and talk to the ref etc. Comon sense really. Think people are reading too much into what was just a bad day at the office all round.
  9. I think this window will be the mst interesting for many a year. In the past we've all dreaded the window as it meant our best prospects being sold to satisfy the shareholders dividend, and buy new train pictures for the boardroom. We are clearly no longer a 'selling club' so the only person who will be able to make a decision will be the players themselves. Hopefully with Pardews influence and the example set by other young guns leaving for more bench warming opportunities the only leavers we will see will be the deadwood.
  10. Its far too early in the morning to even begin to try and figure that out:confused:
  11. Personally speaking I have no time for religion, any of them, and just cannot understand how people can still believe when every bit of scientific evidence points to the non-existence of a God. I only go to church for weddings, christenings and funerals, and I can't wait to get out when the service id finished. A few years back I had to restrain myself at a christening whne the vicar began preaching about how we should find it within ourselves to forgive those who committed the 9/11 attacks (this was only 2 weeks after the event). Paradoxically I have huge respect for people who choose to believe, and allow their faith to guide them. When you hear people who have lost a child or a loved one to murder saying they can forgive the people who did it, it takes more control and restraint than I could possibly imagine having, and if that is what their belief gives them then good for them.
  12. Sounds a bit like the email I got from that lovely Nigerian chap. I felt sorry for him as English clearly wasn't his first language but he tried so hard to make himself understood. Apparently he had all this money due to him but the will that left it to him said it had to be paid into a bank before he could get it. He doesn't have a bank account so he asked if I could help by having it paid into my account and he would split it with me for my inconvenience. What inconvenience? All I had to do was send him my account details and he would do the rest! Unfortunately I had to explain that I would be out of the country for a while so would not be able to help him, but I did pass on a name of someone who may well be able to. Mr Al Faraj needs a few extra quid apparently....
  13. I meant I hope its still at the terrace end, wher the home fans are now...
  14. Hope that dodgy burger van is still at that end, I swear mine was still breathing:smt103
  15. I'm taking the nipper along to this for his birthday treat(!) He's not been to an away game on the train before, only the bingo bus, so it should be an experience for him. What time train is everyone getting from Soton?
  16. Theres only one thing that could make this any better. Come on Rupert, you know you want to get back into football....
  17. Agree 100% Thing is though, if every parent just ignores it, what can they do? Warden:- YOu parents can't come in here with your children Parents:- F**k off Warden:- Err, ok.
  18. Corpse has gone a bit quiet. Does this mean the Riquelme deal is off for a while then?
  19. Do we have to have this every week? Does it not occur to some peole that there may be a teensy tactical decision by the captain to kick towards the Chapel in the second half? In fact saturday was a perfect case in point, wish I had my camera as I could have taken pics to end this once and for all. First half their goalie was wearing a cap as he had the sun in his eyes, as did 3/4 of the Northam stand. By the start of the second half the sun had moved round and only a small corner of the pitch wasn't in shade. Now I realise with the darker evenings this advantage will lessen, but in the meantime can we please just trust the players, rather than our, judgement? After all its not us who have to put the bloody ball in the net!
  20. Have to say I agree, far too much chance of getting needless injuries in a competition we have no chance of winning. Would be nice to get to the 3rd round a draw the skates at SMS though, we would kick their arses f'sure.
  21. American soccerball, meh. Bet the keeper feels a bit of a tit though
  22. Don't know if anyone else noticed but when the 3rd one went in Pards gave a little wave and a thumbs up to the directors box.
  23. Agreed, was a bit dissapionted Lloyd didn't get a MOTM option in the reaction thread. Going forward he has always been a good player, but his defensive play has come on leaps and bounds this season. I sit in the Chapel and his two crosses were absolutely pin point for the goals.
  24. We use the Pensioners, just off Bedford PLace. Family friendly, decent food, real ale ans Sky sports. Used to go in the Grapes in Oxford St but the new owners haven't had sky sports put in. Red Lion in BEdford Place is also family friendly but again no SS and IMO the beer is a bit crap.
  25. Corp? Whats the inside line?
