I am expecting a raft of changes, but not a complete second team. Somewhere in between. As long as Danny Fox isn't playing. Given the weather forecast I plan to canoe down the Itchen to get to the game.

I hear NC is planning on building an airport then a space station and then become independent from the rest of the UK

I would guess the last game of the season will be like that as well considering it's against United and the season will be all but over.

Agree. Whilst I think we can achieve 50 points and be in the top 10, the priority is staying up and cementing our place in the PL. West Ham are looking in a far worse situation than we are and I think we have to appreciate just what a job has been done at this club.

2 0 hopefully and a chance to build confidence.

Was gonna run down the Worthies club to watch the game me thinks.

Just wondering what ROM everyone is running. I got fed up with Ice Cream Sandwich so I'm trying out Cyanogenmod.

We are still on the up. Looks like we will finish around 8th to 10th this season. We know that the squad is not strong enough to go any higher, and we have a group of young players that can only get better with more to come. Sensible strengthening in the summer and we can push on next season. There is an ethos about the club that is superb and we only need to compare where we were three seasons ago. Enjoy the ride.

where are we in the league? one of the best managers we've had in a long time (bar WGS I would say)

funny but probably too soon hatch

don't be silly Glasgow

Do you honestly think the British parliament will vote for this? Bearing in mind how delicate the situation was with Hillsborough?

I'm glad someone's kept a sense of proportion with this. Funnily enough, this would probably stop all threads on this forum.

The problem was that Crouch and Wilde maxed out the overdraft in an attempt to get back to the Prem in the second season in the Championship. Lowe had rolled the overdraft into the mortgage on SMS so there was scope to do this. When we lost in the play off semi, the writing was on the wall. Rank bad financial management in paying over the odds for players at the end of their careers and gambling with the club. Lowe came back and could not quite keep Barclays at bay. Which led to the current regime. But this is all history, and has been done to death. Much more interested in what is going in right now, with a chairman who seems to know what he is doing.

Thanks Wessex Saint. Just bought three tickets in the neutral area. Don't go to too many away games but went to Fulham Boxing Day last year. It was a really good day out, aided by a late Lambert penalty to make it 1-1. There is no segregation at Fulham, and all the supporters share the same turnstiles at the Putney End. But Fulham are a friendly bunch, if a little quiet. Should be a good day out again.

A good three points in the bag against Cardiff. Everton should be an interesting game I feel. Howard is suspended so they'll have to make do with Robles who has two league appearances this season. Admittedly, we don't have Boruc, Wanyama or Schneiderlin but should have Osvaldo, Lovren and Clyne. COYR!!!

Got the second book for Christmas. Fairly sure that it is Dave Kitson. The opening chapters talk about a failing club and players holding out for their back pay to be paid up. Got to be someone who played for our fishy friends down the road.

Franny taking out Stuart Pearce at the Dell.
-
I'm not going to argue with you. clearly neither of us are going to back down and it will just get silly. merry Christmas.

Were you at the game? That's what happened.

I was at the Swansea game. Fox was a liability and Lovren and Boruc stopped passing to him just after half time as he kept giving the ball away. Agree about the number of changes. We can accommodate 1 change, but having both regular full backs, one CB and goalkepper out was always going to be tricky. What gets me is the media bigging up Adebayor yesterday. He had a good game was up against Fox, and was always going to win that one. Similar to the West Brom game last season when Lukako stood against Fox. I think that it just proved that our squad is not yet strong enough in all areas to break into the top 8, although the full strength team on their day can beat anyone.

Another abject performance. His positioning is dreadful. Adebayor stuck down the right for obvious reasons. But worse still he stopped playing mid way through the second half. Was down to walking pace and looked like he had simply given up. MP had little choice but to haul him off. Being poor is one thing, but not trying is simply unacceptable. I really don't want to see him ever again in a Saints shirt.
