  1. I've been in Uganda for the past month with no phone, news or internet. So my question is, what has happened? Was there the meltdown everyone expected or have we kept some of our players?
  2. It's going to be a bumpy start to the season, as all the new players settle in. We have had the core of the team ripped out, so we need to be patient. Also have a horrible run of fixtures from late November to early January. So my guess is somewhere around 11th to 14th after a slow start. Don't think that we will go down as there are teams that will be much weaker than us, even after all the transfers (Burnley, Hull, Villa, Palace, West Brom)
  3. Given that Chelsea signed him he can't be that bad. We have had an England international left back that united have just paid £27 million for. Whoever we get wont be as good. Give him a chance and see what the next 12 months bring. At least he is not coming to the end of his career Look on the bright side, he can't be any worse than Danny Fox
  4. I would have Hoddle as manager of this team. Great coach but no clue about man management Players I have not liked tend to be those who came here at the tail end of their careers and clearly couldn't be bothered - Speedie, Dixon, Mark Hughes, Idiakez. So based on what you see on the pitch.
  5. Apart from anything, we have a huge bank balance to bring in new signings. I think that we will survive comfortably in the end but be in the bottom half, and the early part of the season will be very bumpy. Can't see us making anything like as good a start as last season. And we will have another season with a very small squad
  6. I'm ****ed off so I went to the bookies today and bet that Costa Rica would win the world cup. At 40/1 I thought why not. What's yours? Oh and if anyone says this isn't saints related, I'll bite you.
  7. Looks like there will be two Saints players in the team tonight. So they join the select group who have played for England in the world cup finals. Paine (1966), Keegan (1982), Shilton (1986), Bridge (2002), Lallana, Shaw (2014) There have been others who have played in finals, but not while Saints players. Hopefully more in 2018
  8. Cup semi-final in 76. Second Saints goal was a Peach penalty after a foul on Channon. Some people have long memories. Wasn't a dive, but initial contact probably just outside the area, not that it matters
  9. When Rodriguez gets back from injury... Saw this on facebook
  10. Who wants to say it's not saints related first then?
  11. Yakin. Got to be.
  12. Making an omelette and all that...
  13. Going to Entebbe, Uganda; Kigali, Rwanda and Istanbul, Turkey in July. Not hoping for the best.
  14. http://metro.co.uk/2014/05/23/mauricio-pochettino-to-remain-at-southampton-and-snub-tottenhams-advances-4737950/ Depends if you trust the Metro, but adds weight to previous posts about MP staying
  15. Anyone heard any rumours about Davis and Boruc moving on? That would make the entire first team regulars on the way out. Wake me up when the new season starts. My guess is that the only player who will actually leave will be Luke Shaw
  16. After 12 years with Saints and having turned down a number of approaches from other clubs before eventually leaving. Not really 'at a drop of a hat'
  17. No one saying the blues brothers?!? thought it was epic
  18. Glasgow Saint is like the **** that's gets stuck to the bottom the loo. No matter how hard you scrub, it won't go away.
  19. Lee Barnard Barnard He's short and he's ****ing hard He's in trouble with Scotland yard Lee Barnard Barnard Still think it's one of our more imaginative chants. Good luck Lee.
  20. Did the stadium tour at SMS not long after it opened. Was told that they installed the pipes under the pitch, but not the undersoil heating itself. But that this would make it straightforward if they ever decided to put it in. Although goodness knows why they think that we would need one. I guess that they replace the pitch most seasons, but it stood up to all the rain over the winter amazingly well.
  21. Are you for real? If they want to carry there children around the pitch, let them. They've worked solidly for 38+ games and if they want to let there children enjoy it why not? Or were you one of those people who didn't see the fuss around Billy Sharp's song dying?
