Its not ideal, but I would have had Clyne at left back and Chambers at right back today. Fox was woeful. His position is not Championship standard, let alone Premier league. Lovren, Fonte and Boruc stopped passing to him in the second half and he gave the ball away a number of times. And his confidence is completely shot. We got away with it today. Don't like getting on the back of our own players but he is simply a liability. Fortunately Boruc was superb today. Hope he doesn't play as well against England on Tuesday week.

I wasn't at the united game in 69, but I was in the relegation season of 74. Last home game of the season, just under 31000 there and gates locked at just after 2. Don't remember seeing much of the game. United supporters everywhere.

Last time we were fourth in the league was after the win against Portsmouth in December 2003. It all went a bit down hill in the second half of that season during which WGS left. We are definitely much stronger now than we were then.

Made a point tonight that Saints had yet to score this season from open play. Factually correct as the two goals that we have scored came from a penalty and a free kick. But it came across as a real dig. I realise that he is a skate, and therefore likely to be bitter and twisted. Has anyone actually met him? Is there any substance in the forum view that South Today has a pro-Pompey bias as a consequence of his involvement?

Although not announced, I think I am right in thinking ML bought us for around £15million giving the creditors about 50 pence in the pound. If you were to add up all the assets and future revenue now, how much do you reckon it would add up to? Is £150million an optimistic estimate?

Not necessarily a bad thing but I have noticed a number of teams we've played against only use 1 or 2 whereas we pretty much use all three every week. Just an observation.

I joined saints forever (as it was then) when Lowe was running the club and no-one had any idea what state it was in. It seems to me that from the days where the football was so bad the forum was good, people have become monotonous in their threads. Per week I guarantee a thread on: 1) stadium expansion 2) why the ticket office is the worst in the PL 3) why MP hasn't learnt English in his interviews 4)mark lawrenson has predicted us to lose 5)any streams that are available Surely 5 could be solved by just listing streams and then sticking the thread? As for the other 4 I just ask people think before posting another thread on such topics before looking through the past 14 days using the search bar.

Given the amount of money spent on Osvaldo - which still looks a good deal to me - and the quality of our midfield, I am wondering whether we will just cash in on Ramirez. He is clearly a quality player, but not quite performing at the level that we would expect. He may just not have settled. It happens sometimes.

Saw it on MOTD. It was marginal whether Lallana was offside, but there was another player (RL?) who was stood in front of the keeper. Even though he didn't touch it under the new 'getting in the way' rules this season he was definitely offside even though he didn't touch it. Not much doubt about the penalty either. Looked pretty clear cut.
