It Shouldn't Matter That It's So Close To Home
Dimond Geezer replied to Gemmel's topic in The Lounge
I think that you may be wrong there, so many people don't give a sh!t now, this guy will probably think on it as a badge of honour that he has killed, and will be boasting to his equally gutless mates. So many of the underclass smirk their way through their trials now and seem proud of what they have done. -
I played against David Pucket (remember him?) about 5 or 6 years ago. I think he was in a Southampton Institute staff team, or something like that. He was playing in midfield. Now bearing in mind he was 40ish and a long time 'ex-pro', and never a 'great' pro-footballer at that, he completely ran the midfield. However we did win the match, but that was more to do with the inability of his team mates, mind you DP did put one past me. I don't think any Saturday/Sunday parks players would get much of a look-in in a L2 match let alone the prem, no matter how good (deluded) they think they are.

Your post wasn't there when I started typing mine, so how come your post is timed at 12:52 & mine at 12:57. It didn't take me 5 minutes to type it. This has made look like an incompetant fool

"I think Poopey will be in the prem for 3 seasons: autumn, winter & spring" ie just one football season. HTH

Presumably if the are wound up mid-season, all points that were won against them would be removed from the winning teams totals. I think thats what used to happen in the saturday/Sunday afternoon leagues I played in. As for cup competitons, dunno, does the team they are due to play get a bye, or does the team the knocked-ou in the previous round, get reinstated. Mind you by 10pm tonight this might be irrelevant.

Or get off their chavvy ars*s and walk to school & speak to little Courtney or Tylers teacher to find out if the little brats had turned up recently. Mind you thats assuming the teachers managed to 'struggle' through the snow. Sweeping generalisations, but so what.

Nick Holmes hollering “f**king hell Stevie” at Steve Moran when he sliced a clearance into touch. Whilst this is not particularly funny in its own right, Holmes was in the 6 yard box, at the Milton Rd end, and Moran (?) was somewhere in midfield, but it was one of those moments when the entire crowd had gone quite, so it was heard in all its glory. Well, it’s was funny when you’re 13

Did the first crew really not have a **** - sorry disk - cutter, or did they think they'd give their mates from St Marys a laugh as well. On another more serious note, does it really take 8 blokes to hold a diskcutter, surely once the second crew (presumably 2 of 'em) arrived the original crew could have been er..... relieved.

I am familiar with Shank's pony, it's not a phrase I use, but my father does. If you google you get this: http://www.phrases.org.uk/meanings/shanks-mare.html As for Wills Mum, I'd never heard of this 'till I met the future Mrs Geezer, apparently it's quite common in Lordshill. From the same website: http://www.phrases.org.uk/bulletin_board/42/messages/1073.html I tend to use the phrase "It looks a bit vegetably, out there". :smt102

For me it has to be Joe Jordan not realising he had shoulder charged the oppositions winger (Imre Varadi I think), over the low wall into the crowd in the old East Stand, glancing around and looking bemused that there was no longer anyone there. He the went over to the crowd and looked down at Varadi(?), turned back to run back onto the pitch, with a huge (toothless) grin on his face, and clenching his fist in celebtarion.

Be careful driving today, the conditions are horrendous and I’ve just come off the road and hit a Portsmouth fan. It took me 10 minutes, 2 fields and a golf course, but I got the f***er in the end. It then took the AA 4 hours to separate my car from the wreckage.

Severe Weather Warning for Southampton / Hampshire

According to the Ikea delivery tracking service it was 6" deep in South Yorks an hour ago. I'd better get the sledge and the long-johns out - \\:D/ -
Give them each a kid, or give the kid a ball  (mind you I think he's got a shirt so that should be enough freebies)

Since the start of the season I've always wanted us 'just' to survive, (by just I mean 'only' rather than scraping through) in mid-table. I don't really want to get to the play-offs and be promoted through that route, I want to go up as champions, which is unrealistic starting where we did this season. Having taken my eldest lad to the FA cup in 2003, I desperately want my youngest to experience a final, whilst the JPT is not as glam as the FA cup I'd love him to share the big-day out. So for me it has to be the JPT (as long as we stay up), then next season get promoted as champions. I think we are capable of both, with one or two more good signings.

Well OC that made me laugh . I clocked the dob when I posted it, but assumed that someone must have been born on All fools day. I am again doffing my cap in you general direction, but for a different reason. Well done. Sorry you & your multiple personalities have been banned.

There seems to be some conjecture as to this gentlemans age, his profile gives his dob as April 1, 1923, making him 86. I doff my cap to you sir.

Which one is David James the flapper skate (Dipturus intermedia) or the blue skate (Dipturus flossada)?

I can't understand how a ref could be so imcompetent. When I played in goal in the Saturday & Sunday leagues, I would always find out what colour the opposition team was wearing before selecting my own top from the kit bag, (basically because I was too lazy to run all the way back to the changing rooms to change ). Surely a professional (are they professional at this level?) ref could manage to do the same. There are 4 officials, one of them must have spotted the similarity.

I'm very impressed, I can't believe we actually gained a fan during our worst season in livin memory - respect. :prayer: As for naming the first team, I'm not sure many could do that until recent weeks. For my part I've been a Saints fan since I was a 9 year old & we won the cup (does that make be a glory hunter? ). Although I didn't go to my first game until '79 (I think) when we played Vancouver Whitecaps in a friendly at the Dell. I don't remeber a lot about it apart from the bench seats under the West Stand were bloody hard & they had Bally, Davis Harvey & Jimmy Greaves playing for them. Started going regurlarly from about 1980 onwards, firts in the family centre with my mates Dad, (my mate lost interest & Dad had a spare ticket), then behind the goal in the Milton Rd End.
