Totally fair post, just an unusual way of highlighting the problems that exist which gets up some peoples nose. Pardew admits we have struggled on these pitches in his post match notes: "On these pitches we haven't done well, Exeter, Brentford, Millwall, this one, we just can't seem to get a game plan together that will get us a result.' We need to learn fast how to win at the bottom clubs, because next season if we arent winning these games then we won't be at the top of the league. Pardew must be top 2 or 3 by christmas otherwise he will probably be gone. For what its worth I am disappointed but am aware that it might take a few games for all players to gel, and morgan being out is a big blow!

Its disappointing, especially with the other results. We need to learn from these type of dreadful games for next season if we expect to go up automatically. Roll on the next game.

I like the look of this lineup. Will this be as tough as Leeds away? It seems like its going to be difficult to get anything. I would take a point now, but it will be interesting to see how the new look side is getting on against one of the best sides in the league. I am going to predict 1-1, and wont be unhappy with that.

saints player is so dreadful. For 20 mins i couldnt get anything. Merrington is awful, as are the mk pair. The only positive things i can say are its better than nothing and saints are winning.

He has an appalling injury record, even from his time at Derby. They didn't release him coz he's a bad player, it was that he was injured so much. If he stays fit then thats great, and useful for the side, but don't hold your breath. It happens to some players, if he never got injured he would be a much better player i reckon

Seems more than likely. He will be the only other left footed defender except Harding if i'm not wrong. Therefore he can be cover for Harding too. Don't think Pardew rates Mills as a defender, and I seem to recall when he has come on in cup games etc we have conceded. Therefore a promising Centre Back and adequate cover for Harding should he get injured. All logical sense in my opinion. We now have decent first choice and cover in the entire defence, which we didn't have before. Ward wouldn't have offered that, and in all honesty prob wouldnt have been as happy playing second fiddle to Jaidi and Fonte too.

It just seems that Pardew opted for Seaborne once he became available late in the day. Obviously sees something there. I reckon he might even be playing this weekend. Lets hope he does well as it looks like we could have had either one, and we have opted for DS. It would be nice for someone (Pardew) saying once and for all that Ward signing is off so we can at least close this thread.
