The few times I saw him I rated him as a neat and tidy player, but not someone who can have any real impact on any game, and that means he needs very good players around him to make him any good. He never had that, and as part of the dreadful team last season I am glad if he goes. I do wish him well at Donny though. One of the worst towns in England, it must be said

With Liebherr at the helm I thought we might consider a return for the only player who shares a name with a religious newspaper... the 'Christian Dailly' Terrible I know

definitely better stages than last seasons rely solely on youngsters who are no good go into relegation zone go into admin get relegated this season certainly creates optimism for everyone. Today is a big game, lets hope its going to help the stages get better

a win today and i think I will spontaneously combust. Hope we dont miss Morgan though!

cant wait for this now. Lets get to Wembley against Leeds. It would be fantastic, and what a coup for Johnstone's. Luck favours us again with a home leg second.

so cold here -10 walking to work, but who cares coz I have just found out saints have done the business again. Bring on dirty Leeds!

Should Pardew rest players in JPT game ahead of Leeds?
opthomps replied to trousers's topic in The Saints
I agree with this. Provided everyone is fit ad WANTS to play then the best team should be put out. Being at home is a great advantage. We should make the most of it, irrelevant of potential suspensions. -
good original post. You do wonder why those 2 were signed You might be right with saying makeweight with with other transfers deals. I remember reading that we got forecast instead of some cash from spurs i think. I doubt we will ever know the exact details. they are clearly both rubbish players anyway and hope to be shot of them soon. waste of squad numbers

We should win handsomely, and I'm sure we will. I do have dreadful memories of that 4-3 defeat at prenton park. I was at University in Sheffield and one of my Wirral friends who was sharing in the house rubbed my nose in it big style. He went out on the razzle drinking champagne and has never let me forget. That match has even been on re-runs over here in the last two months. There will be no sympathy if we give 'em a good spanking. 3-0 Saints

saints matches are so exciting, i love it (as long as we win) sounds like we should have 6 or 7
-
when people predict a goal fest matches tend to disappoint in general. That said 55 goals in the last 13 saints matches is hard to ignore. I predict 2-1. Would be nice to see connelly back on the scoresheet.

ditto, i watched brighton online, and it was great except the result, hope it will be on again. Techonolgy is amazing to get access to these

seems like we are currently a top 6 side -10 points and - a bad first few games, so that will prob get us mid table unless form changes again. Im happy that at least the games have goals and are entertaining.

i always prefer the 'foreign' saints player than our own. Easier on the ears. COYR

Really don't want him. Just because a rat boy plays for saints wouldn't change the fact he is a ratboy. I'm all up for giving players chances, but I put him in the same league as Barton or Bowyer and really would prefer to sign players of decent calibre. Not ones who commit crimes, or deliberately dreadful tackles on fellow pros.

need a great second half and we can win this. Lallana is playing well today. I cant believe im staying up till after 3am on a school night to watch it. A win will make it worth while though
-
brilliant, if you have a spare 20 mins, as i did (he must have had a spare 20 hours)

The competition for places is really good, something we've been missing for a while. If we can keep all the key players fit we should be in no doubt that from here on in we will be a major force to be reckoned with. I think our squad has more strength in depth than Man Utd's currently

any game with an afternoon kick off so i can actually watch/listen to it please. I am not a 5/6am kind of person. Midday saturday or sunday would be nice
-
i am off to the pub now to follow todays football proceedings. I am hoping for Blackburn, Arsenal and Saints victories. I am expecting a narrow saints win. It feels so good to be 'expecting' wins now, and long may it continue. 1-2 saints

That would be perfect. Ferguson lately has been worse than ever. If Manutd were to go out of business I would shed tears of joy, and with Liebher at the helm maybe we could fill their shoes. I am hoping that Ferguson has an invite to Barrymore's next pool party to be honest. That or just retire please.

ridsdale was a baffoon as well. i'm led to believe when they signed seth johnson from derby for 7 million where he was on about 10k a week they offered him 27k immediately. Johnson was so amazed that he sat there in silence, gobsmacked at the massive increase. Ridsdale took Johnsons silence as meaning that he was unhappy at the amount, so then piped up, OK 37k a week, but thats as much as we will pay you! Johnsons time there was a disaster, he would have signed to play for 15 or 20k a week, and this story was indicative of that crazy regime. I am really looking forward to playing them this season now, lets hope we can win, should be a goodun

It was interesting to hear about Brian Clough going there, having read his autobiographies and such like. He really hated them and their previous regime, and lasted about 90 days in that job. I think they are hated by most football fans hence 'dirty leeds' being synonomous with them to this day.
