In the 40 odd years of watching saints there has been some really poor teams, but they generally were competitive. But this has to be the most uncompetitive and disfunctional squad we’ve ever had. Sports republic obviously expected to go down as their incompetence over the summer in the transfer window and their belief that this squad would have competitive just smacks of stupidity. Not sure we respond over the summer but one thing the ownership need to do is address the fans, apologise for this seasons disaster and offer season ticket holders a good enough incentive to renew, but alas they won’t as they appear completely disconnected to their fan base.

I saw one of two supporters having a right pop at those in the directors box yesterday at half time, fair play to them… the northam end was as quiet and blunt as our attack and should be directing their anger to the directors box and the booing of Smallbone was pretty poor.. this is all on Sports republic who have absolutely zero idea when it comes to transfer policy or engagement with a fan base.

Pretty obvious club have given up… not even to try and get a loan in speaks volumes. Don’t think juric will feel like he’s supported and will be off in the summer. Our owner can do one, to sit and watch all this happen under his watch is unforgivable and we need a total reset in the summer. Club seems so disconnected to the fans. didn’t get todays formation… just bizarre. Fear for next week and Bournemouth could quite easily get 5 or 6 waltzing through our midfield.

Tall Paul will score goals in the division if we get enough crosses in… we’ll also score goals because he causes opposition defences to panic and they’ll leave other players free.. bednarek goal last week as an example. He often keeps 2 defenders busy.

Our inability to get decent crosses into the box doesn’t really help his cause. He’s a handful and created the space for bednarek yesterday by keeping defenders occupied. But our crossing is beyond a joke.

Too many players that look average in the championship trying to step up in the premier league. New manager has 3 training sessions with the team and we play a totally different way and we were unlucky not to get something. It’s not rocket science and if the board had the Conviction to move Martin on earlier who knows what any new manager could have achieved. Just made a change to attack with some purpose and pace.. I don’t care if we lose but at least show some effort which we did in that second half. Would live to see archer and talk Paul play together and go a little more direct at times.. disappointed with downes today.. he’s positionally poor at times and can see why West Ham were happy to sell. But with a decent manager he’s still got the makings of a good player.
