I don't think it's knee jerk. If we don't get another central defender in, I have serious concerns as to how many games we will win, we are not scoring many are we? Is there anyone on this board who thinks we have a chance of getting anything from a game when we go behind?

Agree with "Batman", extended contracts generally help to get a better transfer fee but if a player wants out he will go(Mane). If VVD is still here next season I will be amazed and that's even if we qualify for Europa again.....but personally I can't see top 8 being achieved

Now the transfer window has shut, perhaps we should have a poll on where we will finish this season. I honestly can't see top 8 but hopefully I'm wrong.

Everyone has an opinion, some I agree with and others I don't. For me, if we sign no one else, do I expect us to be top 8 at the end of the season? Based on the performances so far (not results.), I don't think we will. This is just based on other teams - managers, current squads and players coming in. Whilst we have the Europa league to consider plus to be honest if our performances and results do improve, I don't believe it will be in the next couple of games. I hope I'm wrong, but personally I think the is the season where we go back a step in terms of league position.

Yoshida scores 1 and has an assist in 2 others. JWP bosses the midfield but fans don't realise he's playing until he's subbed. I'm confident that there will be goals!

As always, I want us to win. However, based on our performances this season and especially after Thursday, I'm not confident of even getting a draw. Confidence is probably low, no change in personnel from Thursday, except possibly Mane will actually be fit to play and then what formation will Ron decide on? Ref Targett, I was not at the match today, but he is young and will improve. However, in my opinion he lacks acceleration over 5 yards to make him a regular premier league player in that particular position....... but time will tell.
