McCarthy is the interesting selection for me.....albeit on the bench tonight. He is much younger than Turnbull and Stephens and has now progressed to U21 side. Very good centre back who can also play right back and midfield......will watch this lad over the next few U21 games. What with Targett , Rowe , Reid on the bench......the youngsters are being given a chance to shine. I am one for the...hope Lee gets back to form/fitness and adds to the first team squad...... unlike some who write him off without ever seeing him play...he is obviously playing his way back in training...hope he shines tonight and continues the progress.

Old Nick might be able to give you the benefit of his invaluable experience at SWF level management.. Defentitely potential there.....phil of the desert.. No service to SRL.....He worked very hard as the loan striker...Did his best in a very poor England side. SRL 5 or 6 out of ten. 6/7 of the England side did not even warrant 3 out of ten. Some so called stars in mid field...soooooo poor. England struggle to get in the top 20 in the world. Poor game all round.

You just know that SRL will stick a couple in against the Ukraine:) Roy of The Rovers all over again:D Play to his feet and bring others in around him and we will win. He is special and he is a Saint.. Mr Lambert another step towards the knighthood.

Goalkeeping coach said NO...did the man on the throne listen...NO Contacts to the GK coach confirmed ..not risk the gamble... Spurs wanted rid....something had happened to Tommy in the previous two seasons...maybe confidence or night clubs.. Our heirachy were warned NOT to touch and take Jimmy Greaves or Alan Gilzean as GK prospects instead:rolleyes: Some have said after 10 mins of Tommy warming up...not looking like a GK:scared: My daughter saw him try to catch a ball and laughed...... I laugh every week...most weeks..... when peeps come on this forum and state that SRL is rubbish/poor/unable to play/not up to speed/not prem standard etc The games I have watched at St Marys ( season ticket holder) or away OR on screen had more often than not shown SRL to be a very good footballer who was integral ( love that word) part of the side/that days match....Great football brain. Many times..it was obvious that certain posters...some under 3 different avatars....have not been to the games (if ever?) /watched the game on screen/ have sat on the forum all day posting rubbish/WUM OR just NIL knowledge of footer. World class...no.... International class....YES.. Prem class.......YES...and proven almost every game. Great player and SO glad in our side every week. He certainly has the potential to be Premier player..team/squad. We all saw flashes of star quality. The injuries, lack of games and loss of form , leading to surplus to requirement group. Maybe.........he has a second chance to show MP and coaching staff in training etc ...worth a try in squad ...????? Time and MP will tell.. Good luck to Mr Lee. This is so true when clubs like us play these big boyz. I always find it interesting when , like yesterday Liverpool v Man Utd....the ref is in a quandary so often ..especially without Sir Alex to help officiate. Then again ..we do get some decisions in non relevant areas against the top teams.. Before anyone gets on their high horse.........the officials are very scared of these big teams regarding their career at the top level. Major example....Van Persie had already been booked......should have been off.....and then pushes a player...second yellow card and off... NO..........ref too scared even though he saw it clearly.... Saints player and off and even the commentators stating...YOU can't raise your arms. etc Van Persie should have been off...
