  1. I hope your young charges understand you better than I do. Are you Argentinian?
  2. “With regards to Portsmouth FC, Hampshire Cricket has found it difficult, in the past, to establish the same sort of relationship that it has enjoyed with SFC but, after a series of meetings between myself and Iain McKinnis [Chairman Elect of PFC], this is now a distinct possibility. You'd think that after this series of meetings with the Pompey Chairman Elect, Bransgrove would at least have learned to spell the bloke's name.
  3. Seem to remember there was talk years ago of 'filling in' the gap between Southampton and Portsmouth to create a massive conurbation to be called Solent City. The proposed football club was to be part of this. Glad it didn't happen - yet.
  4. Stuart Pearce, Brian Eastick and Steve Wigley, the U21's management dream team. FFS.
  5. A good job we kept Luke Shaw away from this crap - maybe we should have engineered an injury for Clyne as well.

  8. Although I've seen those pictures many times (MLG posts them at every opportunity), I still don't know what that horrible brown lump of a building next to the stadium is meant to be. Anyone?
  9. I haven't got my not606 registration email either. They must be inundated by people following the bear. Saintsweb has had my last fiver. Dumb, dumb mods. Yo.
  10. It's official: St Chalet has not made any friends yet Yo!
  11. Exactly this. After watching the dignity and gratitude shown by Everton and Man U over the weekend towards their managers and the dignity and gratitude returned to those clubs by their managers, I cannot help thinking that the Liebherrs would want that sort of image for SFC. After all, the rest of their business philosophy seem to be based on those values, and sadly Mr. Cortese's seem to be based on the polar opposites.
  12. Not so - when we were in the Southern League it was a rival to The Football League, not inferior to it - there was no tier system in those days. We have never played in Division 4.
  13. Not really - I think we both became league clubs in the same season on the formation of the Third Division South. Until then, the Football League consisted of two divisions with the only member club south of Birmingham being Arsenal. Which means that all those Lancashire clubs having impressive numbers of League Championships in their histories seems not as impressive after all. When the southern clubs were all in the Southern League, Saints won THAT championship 6 times, and Pompey won it twice. Of course, that fact is forgotten by the people at the wrong end of the M27.
  14. Err - 1920 Sshhhh!
  15. If the players don't measure up, he'll have them executed - or sent to a 'special' training camp.
  16. And the Newport in Braishfield - a famously filthy pub. They do a nice pint of HSB though.

  22. It's because he works for Sky. As far as the BBC is concerned he never existed.
  23. Why people compare Grant Holt to Rickie is totally beyond me.
  24. Nutshell
  25. Martin O'Neil Urban Myth unravelling. Did nothing at Leicester. I could be successful at Celtic. Zillions to spend at Villa. Just glad he didn't buy that house in Winchester.
