The "who do we think should be in goal on Saturday" thread
Trader replied to Ivan Katalinic's 'tache's topic in The Saints
Absolutely this - Bart's confidence was completely destroyed by being No2 at this club for too long, he really is a good keeper as he is proving now at Notts County. KD was No1 for too long - we should give Gazza an extended run in the first team, but if he really f*cks up, we have Boruc as back-up. I know Kelvin has been a really good and loyal servant to the club (blah blah) but we can't keep on being sentimental, the hard practicalities of the situation should take preference. -
The plural of tory is tories. QED.

2-1 up - 5 mins left and lost 3-2. Oh dear.
-
Unfortunately the 'finer details' may prove to be a little difficult.
-
Of course - what a tactical magician he is. I'm not disputing that C*ntflaps can build a team - it's just that he needs a gazillion quid to do it. And I'm sure that most managers could given the opportunity. (Most managers do not include, of course, King Kenny)

Bale didn't feature at WHL after Harry's arrival for quite some time.
-
He is completely opposite to Nicola's philosophy. Half of our team coming from the academy? Under Harry? Really?

Just watched the Everton v Newcastle pre-match show of support for Hillsborough victims. Merseyside United, youngster in Liverpool colours on pitch, the whole crowd united in applause, 'he ain't heavy, he's my brother" over the PA, etc, etc. Tear-jerking stuff. Wouldn't it be nice if....... Nah, f*ck it.

I had to laugh.

Actually O-levels at least in 1966 when I took them were graded at A,B,C,D,E and O for a pass, and F,G and H for a fail. And just to demonstrate how hard it was to get an A in those days, both the recipients of the A in maths in my year ended up doing maths degrees at Cambridge.

Any sport where you need a judge or judges to decide the winner. It becomes just a matter of opinion. Therefore boxing should just carry on until there's one man left standing. And diving, ice skating, synchronised swimming, gymnastics etc should be relegated to the circus where they belong.

Congratulations Hampshire - both limited overs trophies this season. That's cheered me up after Saints abject display today.
-
No, sorry that doesn't work. Average wage now is about £500 a week - or around 22 times what it was in 1966. Therefore as the price of admission in 1966 was about 23p, relatively it should now be 22 times 23p = £5.06. I think we'd have sold out on Saturday if the tickets were a fiver each.
-
Using same link - adult price to Milton Road terrace then - 4/6d. Worth now £3.43. In other words it cost the equivalent of £3.43 to attend a top flight match in 1966. And people wonder why we couldn't sell out on Saturday.

As soon as I heard all the 'experts' on Sky tipping first Somerset then Yorkshire to beat us I knew it was in the bag. Why are Hampshire consistently under-rated by these people considering their t20 record in recent seasons?

But 'e ain't got no pace Geoff. (TM Paul Merson 2012)

And then showed a graphic with the favourites for top six and bottom four in League 1 come May - mysteriously no Pompey there even though oddschecker have them as clear favourites for the drop at 1-2. http://www.oddschecker.com/football/english/league-1/relegation

A basic requirement of all new moderators is to know the correct names of all prospective transfer targets.

Better watch out for some Holloway trickery - Adkins signs Matt Phillips, only for SuperKev to turn up.
-
Why oh why do you have to keep repeating yourself like some manic stuck record? And I know we played in blue shorts and socks for 50 f*cking years - I only need to be told once.
-
Apparently we played in blue shorts and socks for over 50 years.
-
That's just being picky.

It's still red and white stripes - just very very wide red and very very thin white. Still red and white stripes though, so our heritage and tradition is still intact. Phew!

Glad to see you're obviously fit and well again Whitey Grandad. I have also had 'Fratton Park Disease' (caused by fat in the pipes) but I'm glad that both our clocks are still ticking. Will take more than a couple of stents to sort that mess down the road out though.
