Cortese has left Southampton Football Club - Officially Confirmed
Trader replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
If KL desperately wants Pochettino to stay as has been reported, surely his condition would be that there would be no sales of players in this window. That's what I would demand anyway. -
Purslow's qualifications look ideal. Businessman who has managed at the top both in football and in finance - and is a football fan but not a football man.
-
Pep Guardiola - probably speaks enough German by now to discuss tactics with the chairman.
-
Players will say what they're told to say in interviews as is abundantly clear with the nonsense spouted by players down the road over the last few years.
-
Quite - I can't think of any time in English football when the chairman leaving a club prompted a mass exodus (manager, practically every player, tea lady etc etc) as envisaged by some on here. Indeed, at a lot of Premier League clubs I struggle to think who the chairman (or CEO if you prefer) actually is - it's usually a relatively low profile position. Remember, we're not talking about the owner here.
-
If Cortese leaves, can I be the first to say I couldn't give the tiniest s h1 t. He's not a nice man.
-
Aren't they those shrimpy things that whales eat? Seems strange that they could organise sponsorship of a football league whilst facing extinction from the world's oceans. It's a funny old world.
-
Probably means Billy Sharp. What with that and his comedy attempts to spell Torquay, it looks as if Dalek's hit the Tanglefoot a little too early.

Who are your favourite mediocre England cricketers over the years?

At least Atherton didn't go to pieces facing aggresive fast bowling. -
2.20am Bailey out anyway. Good stuff England. Australia 97-5.
-
As you've probably realised it took me half an hour to compose my rant - but I still say that 95-5 at lunch would have been an awful lot better than 95-4, even if there was a miniscule chance of that happening. Why didn't they at least try? Still lunch BTW!
-
OK, it's 1.28am UK time and I'm watching the 5th Test from Sydney. Watson is out LBW with 2 balls left before lunch, and Australia are 94-4 and on the ropes. And they all troop off for lunch! Why - is it some law of the game that has passed me by? If so, it's wrong. Next man is is George Bailey - not exactly a brilliant Test record for Australia - you'd think that England would at least try to get him out in the 2 balls left before lunch, he would have had terrific pressure on him. It has always puzzled me why this happens in Test cricket and I've only been watching it for 50+ years - is it some sort of gentlemanly conduct left over from amateur days? It's like a Premier League team a goal down with 2 minutes of extra time left saying to their opponents, nah, it's close enough - you win. Anybody explain?
-
False start - didn't make it to 2014.
-
Window Licker seems conspicuous by his absence on this thread today.
-
At least you could hang on to the earrings.
-
Surely if you're a devout Muslim, you wouldn't be working for a Jewish company like M&S anyway.
-
Pity your mate Boruc started that tailspin by his comedy performance at Arsenal. Or was that Gazza's fault as well?
-
That "poor judge of goalkeepers" just happened to be an ex-professional goalkeeper. Look, I just don't like the appalling witch hunt of Gazzaniga on this site, he's 21 and learning. Hoovield was dreadful again today including an own goal - he's the one people should be having a go at.
-
Was he really to blame for any of those goals? Left one on one for all of them - and Hoovield was the one for the second. Seems to be the easy scapegoat on this site - and he doesn't deserve it, terrible defensive ****ups today - if Fonte is on the bench then he should start.
-
Uncle Nic will sell him the glorious golden vision and fantastic future of this wonderful football club as it competes with the cream of Europe. Also we'll pay him a sh !tload of money.
-
If we sign Begovic, Boruc will be the one sitting on the bench. And rightly so.

Several nails on heads. -
Why - he didn't drop his shinpads did he? It's laughable - some of you lot on here are like a load of hysterical little girls.
-
Two'ers. Do keep up.
