  1. Now I have to spend the rest of the day trying to get that image out of my head.
  2. What he said - and actually what I said some time ago. It's as plain as the nose on your face.
  3. All very true - but I would have thought that a well run business shouldn't try as hard as it can to p1ss off a significant proportion of its customer base. Notice I say customer and not fan, because as you rightly say that's what we are, or in my case was. Football is about the only business I can think of where customer loyalty can be stretched so far, but somewhere along the line if they push it too far there will be a breaking point. The club desperately needs to employ a good PR consultant.
  4. Spot on
  5. Where is this bloke from? Oh - Qatar! You really couldn't make this stuff up.
  6. You didn't tell us the answer.
  7. Kimbridge
  8. See Emily Play - ask Crazy Diamond, he'll tell you.
  9. My point is I suspect that he wasn't allowed to do it. These policies were no different before he arrived and I predict they will be no different whoever they employ in the job in the future.
  10. To be fair I think the England goalkeeper is our best player.
  11. Since the club has hardly any discernible PR or marketing policy at all - I suggest he may have become a little frustrated trying to implement one.
  12. Beat me to it!
  13. Look a good bunch - nicknames need a bit of work though
  14. The point about McMenemy is well made. Southampton were never a fashionable club, but he got some fantastic players to come and play for Saints because he sold them the vision. I believe that the manager of a club can make a big difference in the players that club can attract. If Alex Ferguson, for instance, moved to any other club he could still get the best to come and play for him.
  15. You spent money you didn't have on a stadium, we spent money we didn't have on players. We're both as bad as each other..... We've still got the stadium
  16. Well - more like 11p I'd say, but that still works out at about 150 pints per week if you like, which is not far off what it is today. I think that a general formula most things are about 31!! times more expensive now than in the late sixties, but average wages have kept pace. Interestingly applying that formula to lowest price football tickets (top flight) the price today should be £7. I did say most things - including house prices.
  17. TBF though Mack - in P*rtsmouth that was probably earlier this year
  18. Pulling lobsters out of Jayne Mansfield's bum.

  22. OK - MLG you win. Black IS white and white IS black. Now for the sake of everyones sanity, shut the f*ck up.
  23. That's the whole point - they and numerous other big city clubs have THE HISTORY. We don't - got it? Btw - they moved from Roker Park because it was "no longer big enough" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sunderland_A.F.C.
