I agree. It seemed so strange to change our style of striker after Lambert / Pelle had worked so well for us.
It's so noticeable how much better we look with Austin in the side, and he isn't really a target-man type.
They really stitched themselves up by selling all the goal scorers. Llorente & Gylfi are massive misses for them.
At least they only just did that. Pelle & Mane left ages ago and we still haven't replaced them.

Yeah, at this moment in time they are blowing teams away, so their defensive lapses aren't being highlighted - but it will change again.
I can't help but feel they will need a defensive midfield specialist to partner Keita next year.
I think it's one of the few times that Liverpool could blow City out of the water for a player. VvD almost became some sort of magic token that Liverpool literally had to sign at all costs.
