  1. S-Clarke's scouting of Racon has not gone un-noticed by the big-boys.... http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12876_5764417,00.html
  2. He scored today, and Jeff Stelling I think said he's scored 5 in his last 5. He would've been a great shout though. Was up there with Lambo & Beckford at the top of the scoring charts last season. I'm still on the Jackson bandwagon, though.
  3. Great result. I think after the last game, we were saying that this would be a real tough game, and we've done it in real style, by all accounts. We really seem to be able to put teams away on our travels. I'm not getting carried away yet, but the table is looking MUCH better now. (Important for potential players to see that we're climbing the table for the window too, I feel). So onwards we go, by the end of December, if we can be within 6 points of the play-off's, I'll be well chuffed.
  4. Let's start from the back. Certainly, if Trotman goes (which is likely, due to Perry & Thomas getting recent run-out's) we'll need to get someone to fill the gap there, I'm unsure what i'd do with Mellis. I think he's best suited to our 4-5-1 formation, but only if Morgan or Hammond are injured. Certainly a new defensive midfielder would be on my shopping list. What kind of striker is Pitman? Simeon Jackson would get my vote. He's like the Defoe of league 1 from what i've seen.
  5. Nice to hear he's enjoying his football with us. http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~1894481,00.html
  6. I saw that the other day. It's quite incredible to think that Lallana has scored as many goals as some of the league's best strikers, from midfield.
  7. Yeah, I hate those £1m signings, who come in and end up as the leagues leading goal scorer!
  8. Beckford would've cost small fortune. I'll side with S-Clarke on this one. How's Craddock been doing this year? I'd still quite like to have a try and getting Simeon Jackson onboard. Really quick & nippy and would probably score goals in the CCC too.
  9. Yes, awesome signing. Wonder who the 'younger' striker was that Pards had lined up before he went for Rickie?
  10. Good draw. I just wanted a home-draw. I'm guessing we'll get Rotheram, and they boast the top scorer of League 2, in Adam Le Fondre. Tricky, but winnable game.
  11. Agreed. Lambert is much more adept at playing as a lone striker though. They would make for a superb partnership IMO.
  12. I think he's having a slight dip, because you have to remember, he's still quite young and he hasn't played consistently for quite a long time. But now isn't the time to start grilling him. Don't forget, before we signed him, I was literally holding my breath at EVERY single cross & set piece that went into our box! We'd be weaker without him at this level, IMO.
  13. Cheers for the reports. Where's Navyred gone? His youth reports used to be fantastic.
  14. Spot on! I had Gillet & Holmes pencilled down as "must keep" when last season's debacle ended.
  15. I could see us perhaps making a move for him if Morgan kicks up a fuss about leaving again in January.
  16. I loved Le Tiss' goal in this game. Always thought it was quite underrated. He did a hell of a lot in a very small amount of time & space.
  17. I agree totally. He used to own the left hand side of St Mary's at times. He was a joy to watch. Too much, too soon.
  18. How many assists has he had this season?
  19. Just over 21k
  20. I was driving home the other day thinking about the 1st match we played this season against Millwall. From memory, I think we now have in our starting eleven, FIVE new players from that day. Trotman, Jaidi, Hammond, Waigo, Lambert. Four of those are down the spine of the team. Shows the difference they've made.
  21. I was concerned... But having people like Curbishley, Coppell & Strachan being out of work eases my fears, somewhat.
  22. Nice breakdown shurlock, thanks for posting that. Great win yesterday lads. Things are looking up. MK Don's will almost certainly pose us some serious problems. I think our new found 'team of giants' are perfect for this league. Their only weakness is being outdone for pace (Bristol Roves game). Something which MK Don's have lots of.
  23. Great result boys. Solent were doing a feature where you had to txt in to say who's been AP's best signing so far... There wasn't one particular favourite choice - Trotman, Lambert, Harding, Hammond all got multiple votes - That in itself tells you how well we're currently shaping up.
  24. Here's the latest I found on Vokes/Coventry. http://www.expressandstar.com/2009/10/01/vokes-loan-move-delay-goes-on/
