  1. They'll be a ton of people interested in the club. Unfortunately, none of them will have the finances to match they're promises.
  2. My thoughts exactly. I can't believe our squad depth for fullbacks for the last 3 years. Shocking. (Crazy i know, but i REALLY would've kept hold of Jermaine Wright for this season).
  3. There are some amazing one nippers out there... Welbeck from Utd? Vela from Arsenal? Sears from West Ham? Delfouneso from Villa? Probably end up with another Pekhart.
  4. If BWP's going - Perhaps we can afford Dyer's wages now.
  5. If it's anything like FM - Man City get 50% of the fee - The plus is, we get 8k a week off our wage bill.
  6. All the best, Ed. Your in my thoughts.
  7. We love slating our strikers here don't we? He's our top scorer, and without him - We'd be a lot worse off. BTW - Merrington said on commentary how good he was a defending corners tonight.
  8. How many loan players can a club have? Football manager law states 4 longterm, and 4 shorterms. Think we've had 7 so far this season. CORK, GASMI, PEKHART, ROBERTSON, SMITH, PEARCE, SAEIJS
  9. I don't care. He scores goals for us. In a team that find it incredibly hard to score goals.
  10. Seriously, i don't think it's a bad idea giving our nippers 1st team action in the lower leagues, given where we're probably going to end up next season. James, Gobern, Thomson, White, Patterson etc. Should have been loaned out before they played for our 1st team IMO.
  11. I got Utd as my Parent club. And signed Aldershot up as a feeder club (Ideal for when you bring in youngsters that cant quite get in the team). I gambled big-time with my strikers 1st season. Let Stern go (was top earner) and hoped McGoldrick would do the trick - Which he did. Just wanted to stay up 1st season. The 2nd season was even more of a gamble. Basically about 20 clubs wanted Morgan Schneiderlin and i'd been in the situation before (Whereby they start bidding low and keep working up, and the board accept a pretty small bid) - So I offered him to clubs for 7.5m, with me getting a large percentage of sell on. West Ham took the bait. Shame, as he's a top player on it - But it was the only way to finance my 5 year master plan
  12. Goals do seem to be a precious commodity on 09, mate. Starting the 3rd season with Saints (still in CCC) - But have a real young squad and they're getting better every season. Goals have a been hard to come by though.... Got Jose Baxter from Everton for 3.8m (but he's not gonna come good for another season or so). Had Welbeck on loan from Utd who was pretty good when he hit form (only 12 goals though). Signed Christian Nade from Hearts, and he's started the season brightly. Keep us posted on what's going on with your team.
  13. Is this Fulthorpe thing still legit? Why the hell has it taken so long? Surely if he's got BIG investment backers - This deal is simple to conclude.
  14. 1st season (In January in the game) - About 14th in the league. It may help if i had more spondoolies in the bank. Aalborg took up the option of the 800k on Saga but he rejected - But I've now managed to get Brondby to come in for £2m. (Shame i only get 60% of it).
  15. He's not interested, mate. Do i need a certain amount in the bank for him to be interested? Or do i need to be in the prem?
  16. What's Rapnik like, chaps? Needs a centre-half and SLOWLY saving my pennies for one. Also gone for the Russian nipper Fedor Smolov for £3m (gamble, i know).
  17. It's great news, but. Bale didn't want to go, neither did Theo -- UNTIL someone makes an offer. Then they want to go. Why do most people forget this
  18. Have you patched it, mate? Apparently there is an injury glitch that you need get's sorted by patching the game.
  19. You can normally tell how skillfull a player is when they're on the pitch before the game warming up. Players like Belmadi & Lallana always stood out before I ever saw them play. On the flipside - You can tell when players aren't so great - Always remember seeing Kyle Critchell practicing before the Yeovil cup game a while ago - Couldn't trap the ball, or pass it for toffee.
  20. No, but the question was who would you make a move for. I answered the question.
  21. To answer the original question - I'd try & get the Man Utd brothers Rafael & Fabio down here. Both fullbacks. Supposedly VERY good. Plus Bostock from Spurs

  23. Not played FM09 yet chaps... But you have to PLAY young players & they will improve. Got Saints 2nd in the Prem on FM08 with an average age of 22. Have some faith - Nippers do improve.
  24. But he's great at elbowing people & breaking people's jaws
