  1. I think a lot depends on what happens with our outgoing players. I think we’ll lose a fair few players like Thomas & Perry - Which will leave us us fairly short on experienced cover at the back. I’m sure teams will come sniffing around Lallana / Morgan / Lambert etc. So hopefully we can hold onto them – They are going to be vital cogs in our promotion machine next season. I’m curious to see what our policy will be in the summer in terms of recruitment. Pard’s says he wants to build a team that can do well in the championship – So can we expect a few marquee Lambert/Fonte-esque signings?
  2. Kenny Jackett just won manager of the month...
  3. - A striker with pace if we don't sign Papa. (Simeon Jackson) - Tough tackling midfielder able to pass, and dictate play (Therry Racon) - Centre Back & Right Back to replace Thomas/Perry if they go. (No idea at the mo) - Attacking midfielder able to play in numerous attacking positions, with pace, goal scoring & passing ability (Neil Danns)
  4. For some bizarre reason, Morgan is crazily underrated on here! We miss him badly when he's not in the team. Top transfer target for the summer should be someone, who, when Morgan or Deano don't play, I don't go into a cold sweat (I know Deano's not been on top form lately, but we don't half miss him when he's not playing)
  5. Exactly. Didn't they say they had to cut 6 million (!) off the wage bill in January? Not sure how far they got with that. I think if they go down, they will be in serious problems.
  6. I had one too: We won 5-4 with Puncheon grabbing the winner.
  7. Remember it well. I had the extended highlights from MOTD on VHS. I used to watch it over and over in my youth! Bless
  8. Simply awesome Saints. Can't wait to read some of the verdicts from the lads who were at the game. Didn't someone predict 5-0 too?!?!
  9. Pacy striker would be on the list (especially if we don't keep Papa) Simeon Jackson will only have 12 months left on his contract in the summer......
  10. Commanding midfield player who can tackle, influence & dictate play. No idea who though! (Danns will be off to QPR without any doubt)
  11. OK, so we have players that teams above us will want. But the best thing about us at the moment is that whoever wants them will have to pay top dollar for them & we'll get that to re-invest back in the team. No doubt teams that get promoted this season i.e. Leeds & Norwich will want Rickie, but I doubt they'll have the funds to go get him.
  12. Can't believe that i'm so worried about the managers position AFTER a 5-1 win!! I really hope all this isn't true. Realistically, this season, I always felt if we finished around 8th or 10th, I'd be over the moon. Nothings really changed. If we end this season whilst bang in form it would be a disaster to get rid of Pards at the moment.
  13. It doesn't make for happy listening....
  14. I'd like to see a stat of how many wins we have with both Morgan & Hammond playing in central midfield. We always seem to struggle without them.
  15. That would tie-up with his interview, and the rumours of him leaving the stadium early... The whole thing feels very Man City-esque.
  16. I wouldn't say no to having him onboard. Can play on either wing, considered a "match winner" by his boss, and has had championship teams interested. Antonio & Waigo aren't ours, so bringing in extra pace on the flanks wouldn't disappoint me.
  17. I think Pards thought Puncheon could do that job. I think if you want to play Puncheon in the centre, it has to be in a 4-5-1. Think he's a touch light-weight for a 4-4-2. Your old pick of Racon would be the sort of player we need.
  18. I woudn't be suprised if Portsmouth get a late valentines day card with that 25k with 'lots of love' from the Premier league!
  19. Claridge's rant on Sol Campbell was my personal highlight
  20. Priceless.
  21. They need to get him to appear at the court in March
  22. Really enjoying the show. But what an absolute clusterf*ck that club is!
  23. To comment on the recent thread that got closed: I had a feeling a question about 'asset or liability' would come up. He's as an asset to the squad at this point. He offers us something different up front with his pace. He also offers us decent squad strength as a right-winger too. If we don't end up keeping him, we'd probably need 2 players to replace him for those positions. But at the moment, with Connolly injured still, I for one am glad he's around.
  24. Disappointed, but proud.
  25. I see what you're saying MLG. Problem is, I've always thought Sven was wasted in that role with them. A high profile D.O.F. is just a publicity stunt in my view.
