  1. Well, I spoke too soon... We need another [at least] one 100% now http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/s/southampton/8200187.stm
  2. Interesting... Any clues if he's going to go for another striker? I can't imagine Saga will stay (and that's IF we're lucky enough to keep Rasiak). I wonder if he is targetting Whitbread @ Millwall? I know he wants a higher level, but then you would've assumed that about Lambert too. Then that just leaves the mysterious midfielder....
  3. Completely agree. Pace, tricks, balance & goals.
  4. Wotton puts himself about, but his 'distribution' involes those crappy little chips forward (that he did vs Hearts too).
  5. The best place to play him at the moment (with out lack of strikers) is just in the hole, behind a lone striker. 4-4-1-1. Think that's the way to get the best from him.
  6. *Pulis is NOT up to the job (Correction!)
  7. Holland would be ideal though. Pulis is up to the job, and assuming Morgan leaves, we'll be quite short in that area.
  8. Perry was SUPERB against Hearts. He read everything.
  9. Friend of mine had dinner with him on business the other week and said he's "highly impressive".
  10. FF, did you ever find out who the Irish bidders were? Wasn't Tommac again was it?
  11. I think we need to cut our losses & PAY MONEY for a couple of players who have scored goals in this division. We've been found wanting a little bit, and have let BWP, McG & John go, with Rasiak & Saga probably soon to follow. We SO should have signed Sam Vokes last season.
  12. Yeah, I would've kept him without a doubt in league 1. If Holmes can stay fit this season, he'll be a big player for us.
  13. It worked at Reading, only because no-one knows who Nicky Hammond is!!
  14. Markus Liebherr commented: “I believe we have a superb opportunity to rebuild this great Club. Clearly, this will require resources, planning, hard work and patience. We will assemble a strong management team at every level of the Club. We will act rapidly, but also plan for the long term, because I am here for the long term. “I also look forward to the Club re-engaging with the fans and the local community. We cannot succeed with out their backing. “We should not expect instant success, but our fans, employees and other stakeholders can expect 100 per cent commitment from me and my team.” It is expected that there will be media briefings on the new owner’s detailed strategy during early August when he expects to have the full new management team in place.
  15. A statement like this? Markus Liebherr commented: “I believe we have a superb opportunity to rebuild this great Club. Clearly, this will require resources, planning, hard work and patience. We will assemble a strong management team at every level of the Club. We will act rapidly, but also plan for the long term, because I am here for the long term. “I also look forward to the Club re-engaging with the fans and the local community. 16. Markus it is! http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/s/southampton/8136389.stm
  17. Considering all this came from the Echo, who the other day said the worldwide financial services group were the leading candidate - I don't think it will be today. I'd say tomorrow. I'd say the Beeb are the one's to listen too - At least they've made contact with the group.
  18. My quote was EXACTLY what was said within the Solent report, bud.
  19. Solent ran a slight update on the 12'noon news update. I transcibe, thus:- "The Liebherr family are behind the post-war success story that is the Liebherr Group, a company set up by Hans Liebherr that has excelled worldwide in construction, machinery and plant , and has since diversified into a number of companies that between them turned over more than 8,000 million euros last year. Contrary to newpaper reports the Swiss bid for Saints hasn't come from siblings Isolde and Willi Leibherr that run the group, but from one of their as yet unnamed relatives that is behind a different company. BBC Radio Solent also understands that the bid is in an advanced stage, and could be completed before the end of the week."
  20. Not too sure. I used to love finding out, now it just gets more & more depressing!
  21. Well yesterday the Echo were reporting that the mystery finance group were in pole-position - Today, they're saying it's the Swiss. Basically, they have no idea do they!
  22. I do mate. Was thinking last night we could move James into midfield alongside Gillett.
  23. "Our one client has SUBSTANTIAL wealth - several hundred million"
  24. I'd sell McG to keep the club running. Who wouldn't. No point keeping him if the club gets liquidated. I enquired as to what happens to the money if we don't have an owner. Apparently the transfer fee either gets shaved off the price of the club, or the administrator keeps it in a separate account for the new owner(s).
  25. Berkovic's volley against Man Utd.... 6-3!!!
