Most teams have no interest in playing entertaining football anymore. Burnley where the first team I've seen in a while that tried to use free kicks in their own half as an offensive tactic.
-
Forster is costing us points every week he has to be dropped.
-
I think people give Dyche to much credit he is just another anti footballing "everyone behind the ball hope you get a lucky goal" type of manager rather than some tactical genius like a ginger Pullis. Burnley where utter turd but so are most of the teams in the PL. It seems now that most teams outside the top 6 are just hard working and boring.
-
Called the result before the game its so ****ing predictable. The PL is one outstanding team, four good teams and Liverpool followed by a bunch of ****e anti-footballing dross like Burnley and we aren't even that good. The team needs a massive overhaul it's full of average players with little or no commitment it was obvious last season and nothing has changed this season. Might as well play the youth maybe they might look like they give a ****.
-
It's not even about pace but about moving the ball quicker. Players want to take three of fours touches before every pass. We could have opened them up a few times just by moving the ball quicker and releasing Gabbi earlier.
-
Lots of huff and puff couple of chances not much quality. Burnley don't look interested in playing football clearly looking to steal a goal from a set piece.
-
Well we are the better team. Burnley are terrible so a clear 0-1 smash and grab coming in the second half. MoPe needs to run training sessions on finding Gabbi he needs the ball played into space behind the opposition defence so much earlier than he gets.
-
If we only play players who have played well this season we are down to...... errr Lemina, Cedric and Yoshida
-
They won't satay in those positions the three behind the striker always swap around during games.
-
It was odd to chop Yoshida in the first place.
-
Doesn't really make MoPe any different to most PL managers these days. Seems to be most managers go for hard to beat and then hope one of your attacking players gets you a lucky a goal and a win on the break. Hell even Jose plays that way at Man U when playing the other big teams.

Romeu was one of the players who real enjoyed playing under Puel so I wouldn't be surprised if isn't enjoying it so much this season. ORIOL Romeu remains immensely grateful to former Saints boss Claude Puel for helping him become one of the Premier League's best defensive midfielders. The 25-year-old - alongside Jack Stephens and Maya Yoshida - flourished under Puel's management and has acknowledged the influence the Frenchman, who was sacked by Saints in June, had on his career. "He gave me everything to play and feel comfortable," said Romeu about Puel. "He put his confidence in me and I had to give that confidence back. I did that. "He was probably the first coach to say 'you are going to be the main man here and I want you to play'. That definitely made me feel much stronger and have more confidence in myself."

Cheeky job offer to Conte... There are growing fears inside Stamford Bridge that Antonio Conte could be sacked by Chelsea if the Blues lose on*Sunday. The Times reports that the Italian has met with owner Roman Abramovich during the week, with the latter paying a visit to the club’s training ground, something that in the past has been seen as a clear sign that a manager is facing the axe. https://www.msn.com/en-gb/sport/news/chelsea-could-sack-conte-if-they-lose-on-sunday/ar-AAuqE0s?li=AA572I&ocid=spartandhp

SAINTS have been asking supporters through a survey who would make the grade in an Ultimate Saints XI – and here legend Francis Benali picks his. The results of the survey will be revealed when the SeaCity Museum in Southampton opens a major exhibition about the club on 29th March 2018. http://www.bing.com/cr?IG=2ECEF40FCE3A48C6A8C9233865A68F28&CID=12436354B2B861620A53687BB379603C&rd=1&h=j8Hg5IA8rTw5PXq25dNOmQM2K_VhFLRzCJ5exqMWAZk&v=1&r=http%3a%2f%2fwww.dailyecho.co.uk%2fsport%2f15637288.Southampton_legend_picks_his_ultimate_Saints_team%2f&p=DevEx,5027.1 That attack and midfield would have been fun to watch.

Who put a number on it? Clearly to be world class you need to have a cabinet full of trophies no one is going declare a manager one of the best for winning one cup so this idea that people keep putting forward that "insert name of random manager who one a single trophy" must be better than Poch ? is flawed. Managers that will go down as some of the best are the likes of sir Alex, Pep even the special one. That doesn't mean Poch isn't a good manager but if he doesn't win a few titles and trophies (and he is still young) then he will go down in history as a footnote. There are lots of good coaches/managers that do a good job with the resources they have but unless the end their career with a decent haul of trophies they'll never been any better than good.
-
well some of the fans the other lot were sending him death threats.
-
I think the debate isn't about being a good coach there are lots of good coaches out there but at the end of the day when their careers come to end those coaches that are elevated from good to great have to be those who have won trophies. What ever the sport those who go down as truly great are those that win stuff.
-
The test for Poch will be next season after spurs lose Kane and Ali to bigger clubs. He has put together the best spurs side in many a year and it looks like he will still lose out to Man city, in the trophy stakes, who destroyed Napoli last night and look a good bet to win the PL and CL this season.
-
He will be back for VVDs testimonial.
-
Poch might be good but he isn't a ****ing magician...
-
That's not really true either you can be a tactical master mind but if you have players who can't be arsed you are going to struggle to compete. A successful team needs players who work hard with a manager who knows how to get the best out of the players at his disposal if you don't have both you are going to have problems.
-
Sarcasm lost on you then....

Couple of snipets from this article http://www.bing.com/news/apiclick.aspx?ref=BDIGeneric&aid=C98EA5B0842DBB9405BBF071E1DA7651530FFE51&tid=E66B0C3EBF4F4A66A4A74253DBA1F8D0&url=http%3a%2f%2fwww.football365.com%2fnews%2fpremier-league-winners-and-losers-77&c=15734334735330043481&mkt=en-gb Winners Claude Puel As our piece from the game says, anyone who watched Leicester City’s opening goal against Everton will not be worried about boring football just yet. Puel has attacking tools at Leicester that were not in his armoury at Southampton. The first task is taking Leicester away from trouble, but progress and pleasure need not be mutually exclusive. Losers Southampton’s attack They’ve scored more than once in two of their 11 games in all competitions this season. But it was definitely all Claude Puel’s fault.

We will have about 79% possession, mostly in front of their 4-6-0 formation, but only two shots on target and no doubt lose 0-1 to a hopeful long range shot that Forster gets no where near.
