Spurs fans happy today http://www.thefightingcock.co.uk/forum/threads/amazingly-yes-it-can-be-worse.14181/page-42 Pochettino's subs and line-ups have been absolutely ****ing bizarre at times Something that saints used to pick up was Mopo's subs as I recall..
-
So have they got any players worth buying in the summer........Star strikers good RBs?
-
Pompey have got other things to worry about like possible local derbies against Eastleigh next season:lol:
-
I think we will do a "Morgan" with Victor this summer. I can't imagine the club would consider losing both of them in one summer but if he has another good season with us he will go to one of the big boys for the CL. On the plus side I've just seen citeh are allegedly after Coutinho
-
I don't think Victor has made any secret of his CL ambitions
-
But not one the club can do a whole lot about we are losing him one way or another so we better just hope we can find decent replacements . This is the nature of the club being not quite big or good enough to stop the annual summer plundering that will come with being the best of the rest. I take some pleasure from the fact that Spurs and Liverpool are probably going to have problems holding on to the likes of Sterling and Kane.
-
what? Did you think they were going to see out their careers with saints?
-
TBF last season our front three just clicked and looked excellent. Lambert and Lallana had been playing with each other for several seasons and just knew each others games so well, J-rod caught on in his second season playing with them to, which was good for us. This season are front players were all strangers maybe next season they will click to.
-
Well they were here last season and we are doing better this season without them so I doubt they'd make much difference. Not sure there is much difference between Lambert and Pelle TBH and if recall correctly Tadic has more assists but less goals than Lallana did last season. A more interesting question is where would we be if we had a fit J-rod in the team this season.... ....of course if J-rod had been fit in the summer he probably be playing for spurs now.
-
Agree while it is easy to highlight Pelle, for not scoring, as a striker. the central midfield players (like last season) are not contributing much in terms of goals.
-
Sherwood did better with pretty much the same squad minus Kane. Take Kane out of the equation this season and Mopo's spurs would be mid table. I'm pretty sure that Spurs didn't get rid of Sherwood and bring in Poch to stay still or go backwards.
-
I quite like the look of Moussa Sissoko think he is a decent footballer who would do well in a better team than Newcastle. Can play both DM and AM so versatile which is always a plus in a small squad like ours plus Newcastle will sell anything if there is a profit in it.

Interesting piece on Players who have lost form in the second half of the PL season Pelle is there but he is in good company.... http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2418046-10-star-names-of-the-premier-league-who-have-begun-to-fade

Well the top four dream is buggered (and to be fair the fact that we were still in with a chance until March is pretty amazing) but my season target of finishing above spurs and Liverpool still very much on. Finishing above (most of) the defectors will be a nice little cherry on top of the Europa league cake if we can manage 5th this season.
-
Tell that to spurs fans
-
Nothing at all just thought it was funny. You'd think if you were a match day reporter for a national paper you could at least get the names of the players right when you write a report.
-
This^^ I was hoping Djurcic was going be the dynamic AM (with goals) that we need JWP and Davis are neat and tidy but not doing enough going forward for me. I guess Ronald isn't rating Djurcic though as he isn't getting much game time.
-
I see he made such an impression on the Sun match reporter yesterday they call him Jack Ward Prowse in the match report in the paper today.
-
so basically if JWP turns into an England legend and a top attacking midfielder in 5 years time VectisSaint can say he called it wrong and there is no harm no foul?
-
20 million:scared: **** me I'd bite city's hand off I reckon we could get a very decent, goal scoring, AM for 15-20 million
-
Believe so as yesterday shows we don't quite have the ability to break down teams who shut up shop once they get ahead.
-
LOL Harry Reed has had to fight for a place with Morgan, Victor and Jack Cork over the last few seasons not many youngsters are going to get a game ahead of those three. Don't think Koeman has ever called JWP outstanding (unlike Reed after the Everton game) plus I'd take anything Hodgson says with a pinch of salt. Currently JWP is an AM that doesn't score goals, rarely gets beyond our CF and is sited as a deadball specialist who hasn't scored a single free kick this season. As a DM Reed looks far more accomplished than JWP as an AM.
-
Exactly our AMs (Davis and JWP) have scored a total of 0 goals this season between them....
