er yes because that is three players from a squad of 25 we never had the squad depth or quality to compete with the bigger clubs. Even if we had improved do really think the clubs that finished above us last season would stand still so we could catch them up? If breaking in to the top six was so easy it would happen more often than it does.

I can now see where you are going wrong..... we were no where near breaking the top 6 a few more signings or not. With your massively over the top expectations it's no wonder you're struggling with the current situation.

All the players leaving or allegedly leaving are linked with top four/five sides do you really think any of them would have been ready to leave saints to go to Brentford or Ipswich? It's really pretty simple Saints have great season, saints best players attracted attention from bigger clubs, players tell saints to F-off to move to bigger club. This would still be happening if NC was here.

Your wasting your breath (typing hand) W/C always sees the worst case scenario when it comes to saints. I think you're right though we probably won't do as well as last year and we may take time to gel the team a bit but I still think we will do OK next season even if we lose Morgan a midfield of Davis, Cork and Victor backed up by JWP, Gaston and Reed is still a pretty decent PL midfield I reckon. Defence clearly needs some replacements but Boruc, Fonte, Yoshida, Chambers and Clyne are all acceptable to good PL players. Attack needs strengthening big time but people expecting marquee, 20 goal a season, proven PL strikers are going to be right out of luck. We need to cast our net a bit and hope we pick up a rough diamond that turns out good and that some of the strikers we already have can come good. We might not be hitting the heady heights of 8th next season but I can still see us having a team good enough to avoid relegation.

How about all the club gave him? Taking him from Bournemouth and bringing him through one of the best acadamies in the country, standing by him with his heart problems, putting faith him all these years even when he wasn't playing well, helping him get in to the England squad, paying him a decent wedge to play football. It wasn't like teams where battering down the door to sign him like they did with Bale or Walcott. This quote is fact and makes him look like a right tosser, the OS statement also tells you all you need to know about the clubs opinion of him Watching the run-in towards the end of last season was unbelievable, not just for myself but everyone involved in football. It got the hairs on the back of my neck standing up just watching them, and the style of football they were playing. ermm what if we have to sell someone to get the money to buy the next one? What if, for example, a player says he wants to leave we spend x amount on a replacement and then the players move goes tits up we are then saddled with a player we didn't need to buy spending money we might not have wanted to spend. Does any club by a replacement player before the orginal player is sold?

No I just don't watch the champions league full stop couldn't care less about it unless saints were involved. CL money is horribly skewering the rest of European football IMO so either other teams would get a slice of the money instead of just the usual suspects or the whole thing goes tits up as no one wants to watch it either way I'm happier and I still wouldn't watch it.

I could easily live in a world without the champions league so if it had actual champions in it rather than just rich clubs getting richer I could live with that.
