Normally the tatters on Solent have nothing but good things to say about Davis.

I think they will be to strong for us (no disgrace in that I reckon city have man for man the best team in the division). Chelsea seem to have pretty poor strikers for a top side can't understand why they sent Lukaku out on loan. Thing is if Chelsea really don't want him loads of sides would take him like a shot. Think he would have his pick of top sides no way would we land him. He would be an amazing signing though.

Can anyone show me where all these people are who under rate Steven Davis? I seem to read the comment (or something like it) "Steven Davis was great so under rated" a dozen times after every match which kind of suggests saints fans really don't under rate him at all. I think we all realise that he is a massive part of our midfield don't we?

In fairness so does Lambert. Gaston while clearly having some talent doesn't seem to offer as much as other players in the squad I just can't see who you would drop, from our first 11, to start Gaston so he can supply one or two decent balls during a game. I'm guessing MP feels the same or Gaston would be getting far more starts.

Surely Luke can do better than Man Utd ? he won't even get European football next season if goes there.

If he does go we're going to get a lot of money (30 million is the usual figure quoted I think) we could strengthen the team quite a bit with 30 million. Having said that I'd love him to stay but if he does go it doesn't have to be a disaster.

I was worried first half we were playing so well but not scoring I feared Newcastle might re-group and do what spurs did to us ..................seems I didn't need to worry. Great result J-rod, Adam and Rickie are ****ing awesome when they are on their game.

How the hell on gods green earth did they expect to sign someone of Warnock's standing in the game? They're in league 2, no pot to **** in and starring relegation in the face no manager with any reputation would touch them with a barge pole the best they could have hoped for was another league 2 boss or a up coming non-league manager.

Loved that day felt like it was the start of something special and that we'd turned a corner after the dark days before. Tin pot trophy my arse one of my favourite ever days as a saints supporter. Loved the team that season, not the best footballers in the world, but so many characters and good players for their level.
