  1. After Jacks MOM performance (see the match thread) again today thought it was a good time to bump my favourite thread. Wonder how our season would have gone if we had cashed in on young Jack..........
  2. This I think. Back in the championship ST seats in the chapel cost me and the nipper £380 next year it would cost about a grand I just can't afford that so we now do a couple of Cat C games and some cup matches each season I'm sure I can't be the only one. I think saints is the only place I know where a young adult starts at 12.
  3. Jack had another great game again today. It seems Jack and Victor can play in the same midfield and both play really well..........who'd of thought it;)
  4. 7/10 It's been a good season we've played some great football, brought in some great young players and it's been nice taking the plaudits. I still enjoyed the promotion seasons more. I think I will always struggle to enjoy the PL more than those days because in the lower leagues we always had a chance of winning the league and competing where as in the PL, this season, we've probably gone as high as we can ever get. In the PL even before the first ball of the season is kicked you can pretty much predict the top seven which kills the excitement somewhat for me. Our lack of desire in the cups frustrates me as well with no chance of breaking in to the PL top elite the cups are our best chance of getting some silverware so I'd take finishing lower in the PL and being in a cup final over 8th and nothing else.
  5. Fair enough don't think Everton played boring football under Moyes think that's a quickly expanding myth. I seem to remember them ripping us apart at Goodison last season under Moyes. No doubt we are playing nice football under MP but I've already noticed on here the grumbles about us playing lovely football, keeping possession but not being effective every time a result doesn't go our way. Seems to me most fans these days expect results and style but as a club owner someone with a proven track record of around 6th each season on a budget would be mighty tempting I would have thought.
  6. So a manager who has proven PL experience and kept a team in around the top 6 in the PL (on a tightish budget) for quite a few seasons isn't good enough for saints? We've come along way if someone like Moyes isn't good enough for us. If we had employed Moyes after Nigel was sacked this place would have been creaming itself............. funny how a few months at Man U has turned him into such an awful manager.
  7. One bad season (by their standards) at Man U, a job that most managers would have trouble carrying on from where fergie left off, and Moyes is now ****e he did a great job at Everton for years on a tight budget I'd have no problem with him coming here....the Man U job would be a job to far a lot of decent managers.
  8. Sorry but you're writing of Redmond (who has Europa league and PL experience) as rubbish but suggesting Ings ............dear god.
  9. England vs Moldova. Lambert and Wellbeck looked like a great partnership which is, I think, why his name keeps popping up on these sort of threads. Problem is he seems to play better for England than he ever does for Man U.
  10. Well quite he still has more chance of winning silverware with Arse than us...... the idea he would come back to us is laughable. Still wouldn't bet on Arsenal fecking it up against Hull though
  11. In fairness I doubt anyone would be surprised if Hull turned over Arsenal just like Birmingham did a few years back in the carling cup.
  12. oh the irony......
  13. Surely replacing J-rod has got to be a priority? Personally think Nathan Redmond would be a good shout pacy, skilful can play out wide (both left and right). How about Thomas Ince? another player comfortable playing out wide on either wing with skill and pace. Saido Berahino is another player I reckon could be a good buy. Really would like to see us concentrate on bringing in young English (British) talent over foreign imports though I realise that isn't always a realistic aim.
  14. In fairness if Osvaldo was in the same league as Suarez our fans would be happy for him to beat up Fonte every week:). Sadly he wasn't and other (better) players in the team didn't want him in the squad(not something that happened to Suarez at Liverpool).
  15. How's that? we got a 0-0 draw yesterday against a team that barely attack it's not like we haven't won any games since Vic was injured.
  16. Why does it have to be one or the other? Personally I think we look much better going forward with Cork in the team but better defensively with Victor playing. They're different players with different qualities we need both of them in the Squad if we are serious about pushing on in the PL. Surely a good manager plays different players for different games.
  17. That's a good point but if we're doing that wouldn't it pay to rain crosses into the box to get Lambert to revert to a more advanced role trying to get his head on stuff (old skool I now but with no J-rod we need a different plan)
  18. He is no good to us, the rest of the team don't want to play with him, and he seems totally unsuited to the PL so we need to get what we can for him and re-invest that money in good up coming young players. There is no point holding out for what we paid for him because we won't get it. 7 million re-invested in the team is better than no money and a disgruntled player we can't use.
  19. Rather we tried to pinch Nathan Redmond from Norwich TBH or Saido Berahino from WBA.
  20. Maybe we should go for Marco Reus (left sided attacker) from Dortmund apparently united are after him and he isn't bothered about champions league football (according to Moyes) so all we need to do is outbid utd.......... Hopefully that will convince Morgan to stay:)
  21. Well I was there all through league one and the championship and Fox was barely adequate in the championship frequently caught out of position, his only saving grace being a half decent delivery.............
  22. Wasn't Ings a saints academy boy that we let go for not being good enough? In six seasons I think this is the first time he has scored more than 7 goals in a season. I think I'd rather have Billy Sharp.
  23. Hell yeah Bournemouth in the Pl would guarantee us 6pts next season TBF though if they go up it would be at the expense of Reading and I'd like to see Nigel get another crack at the PL so I'm kinda willing on Reading to get promoted.
  24. Matty only scored 20+ league goals three times in his career
  25. Actually in his entire career Rooney has only scored 20+ league goals twice (09-10 and 11-12 seasons) in all the other seasons he has scored no more than 16 goals and usually around 11-12 goals a season mark.
