Personally think we should refuse to play in the champions league on the grounds that it will be to easy and no one Europe is really good enough to give up a game Prehaps we could play in the Copa Libertadores by moving SMS to the Falkland islands were our 70s Brazil football style would be truly appreciated.....

Numpty though he is he spot on here when he says Labour "must stop imagining that working people and poor people have no option but to support them if they hate the Tory and Liberal Democrat coalition partners. I remember as a youngster people like Michael foot and Tony Benn, who even if you didn't agree with them, were proper socalists. Ever since New Labour it feels like you're faced with three parties whose main defining feature is what colour tie they wear. -

So people are upset that a muslim majority voted in a scottish (no doubt protestant) white man instead of a local born muslim man....surely this is democracy at it's finest? Personal I'm upset becuase Galloway is a numpty who will no doubt plague the media for the next couple of years. -

Why oh why would anyone vote for that guy? was celebrity big brother not enough to kill any slight credability he had? Not to mention having an independent MP is pretty much like being in a brothel with erectile dysfunction you've got no chance. How is he going to get any of his election aims (assuming he had any) through with a party vote of 1? I assume people voted for him on his anti-war stance I'm sure his one vote will overturn the policy of two successive goverments. As for Labour...ouch that's got to hurt with all the crap the goverment have been getting lately and they can't even win a nailed on safe seat. -
Glad I got my tickets last july:p

All this does kind of show how f ucked up modern football is though...we're very lucky to have owners willing to write off 33 million (and we're all loving it) I wonder how well would be doing if we had to actually live with in our means? I wonder how many clubs in the 4 divisions actually live on only their income and how many get buy with extra tops up of cash from rich owners? I'd love football to become more of a level playing field fianically one day....but in the mean time while it's the way it is I'm pretty glad we have the owners we do. -

No seems about right to me basicaly they've given the club 33million. I suppose if the needed/wanted to they could just take that back from the PL money (if we get there) and so won't be out of pocket. -
I think that's the point Westham fans have the same opinion of their academy but here we have a Westham fan pointing out that our academy has probably produce more talent than theirs in recent times.
-
Picked this thread up on KUMB Are southampton the new Westham In terms of player development... Alan Shearer Matt Le Tissier Gareth Bale Wayne Bridge The Walcott Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain etc Never really connected the dots before, but they have produced some cracking players over the years. Oh, and am not being serious re the title of this thread. However, credit where credit's due, they seem to have an awesome academy Link http://www.kumb.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=139462 I thought our recent academy success where quite well known but I suppose if you're outside the PL no one notices. Anyway Interesting thread I thought.

I'll worry about it when it happens....but I imagine saints are for sale at the right price just like anything else. 75 million would be a good return for Markus's family wouldn't it? As long as we aren't sold to some dodgy Russian mafia type like them down the road why worry?

Honestly I would have no problems with Harding or Martin filling in for Fox and Jos both can do a decent enough job. Personally I always think our central midfield looks worse without Cork. Hammond and Cork or Morgan and Cork work well but Morgan and Hammond never seems (IMO) to work as well. So for me Jack Cork would be the biggest miss.

Surely singing "The Saints are going up, the Saints are going up and now you're going to believe us....." will be more than enough to have them foaming at the mouth we could always alternate with "pompey are going down, pompey are going down and now you're going to believe us...."

Our points to game ratio must be some sort of record to amass that sort of points tally. Well done NA and the lads for being the first team to amass a gazillion points in a season ....why hasn't the press picked up on this? they must have a massive anti Saints agenda.......

Gus Poyet Saturday the 23rd april 2011 “When you look back in ten years’ time, who won the championship this year? It was Brighton, playing football and passing the ball, not kicking the ball and putting it in the box. “That’s fact, we cannot change that.” Billy Sharp 24th March 2012 "We want to win the league. We won it last year and hopefully we can do it again." So not quite 10 years more like 11 months

from lurking around other club forums I'd say that those comments aren't typical of what I normally read about us....

Happy days loved our final (hell the whole cup run that match against Norwich , smashing MK dons, Papa Wagio) JPT will always be a bit special to me. I may well never see saints win another cup. From what I've picked up in the press so far Lee Holmes was a stand out player can see him moving to Swindon in the summer and being an important player for them (if he stays fit)

I have it on my book shelf very useful if you happen to be a Chinese general of the warring states period....not really much use in 2012 expect for making yourself look clever....
