  1. Ok maybe I'm expecting to much from the club to just have the new manager lined up to take over the same day the old one is sacked. Personally think it would have been good to give the new bloke the free hit of the Spurs game to prepare for the six pointer with Cardiff.
  2. No they said the football couldn't be worse than Puel's brand of football..
  3. What model? The brand the club tried to pedal of being an ambitious, well prepared, youth driven, defined footballing style and recruitment savvy club has been firmly laid to rest the last few seasons...
  4. The club statement sounds depressingly familiar to previous ones with the search for a replacement is underway line. Also Kelvin is in charge for Wednesday which suggests no new manager announcement is immediate.
  5. Tbf people said it couldn't be worse than Puel, then it couldn't be worse than MoPe...I wouldn't put it past our board to actually find someone worse than Hughes...
  6. Mmmm Kelv vs poch this is going to be nasty...
  7. Why haven't we already lined up a replacement surely we'd be better off keeping Hughes until we had someone lined up to take over. Several weeks of Kelvin, while we hunt for a replacement, could be painful especially with Cardiff coming up.
  8. There is one person on this forum who calls Puel world class and he is clearly doing it as a wind up. Having said that Puel looks odds on for a third top half finish in three seasons not bad for a guy described as one of the worst managers saints has ever had. Right now I could easily live with Flores if he turns out to be about the same level as Puel. I just want someone who can make us defensively solid throwing away leads is getting really old now. I'd happily watch us grind out a few gritty 1-0 wins at the moment.
  9. Yep people complaining already is just weird. I'm not really sure what top manager a club in our position, with a chairman at pains to point out we don't have any money to spend, people think we are going to attract.
  10. Even pep might struggle with Hoedt...
  11. Not great. Totally one footed so looked very uncomfortable.. great free kick though.
  12. it goes along nicely with the ridiculous light and fire show before the match...
  13. LOL is that the Villa version of the Les Reed thread...
  14. Probably not Hughes will, no doubt, revert to "experienced players" once they have recovered from injuries but he has a point in that neither of the two young lads looked out of their depth certainly no worse than our experienced players so maybe our managers (and fans) should trust our youth a bit more.
  15. got to be done...
  16. I thought Valery was pretty solid defensively didn't really get beaten stuck to his task probably better than Cedric in that respect (I particularly liked in the second half when, I think it was Pogba, tried to get past him with some fancy footwork and he just stepped in front of the player and took the ball) he didn't give us much going forward though didn't really seem to have the pace of trickery to make much happen in the opposition final third.
  17. Seriously? keeper is the one area of the squad I'm not worried about.
  18. Longs job is to finish chances created by others Redmond job is to give people the chance to finish...not his fault others can't finish.
  19. It's really hard to get assists when your strikers are absolute turd. He put several good balls in to the box today low and fast just begging for someone in a red and white shirt to get a foot to them and yet not one ****er in red and white gambled on them. His shooting is turd though.
  20. You see it every game at SMS these days the players in Red white just deflate before your eyes as soon as it starts to go wrong. The supporters aren't much better even at 2-0 up you still fancied Man u to get back in it.
  21. Yeah but losing 2-3 at the death to a dodgy goal is more heartbreaking and is the saints way
  22. We don't have one good CB in the squad...
  23. We really need to learn how to defend second league game in a row where scoring two goals won't be enough to win all set up to to lose 2-3 to a controversial man u goal in injury time now. Absolute school boy defending for both goals.
  24. I can see why he has gone for a back five we have Cedric playing as a left back and some kid making his PL debut at right back, up against Luke Shaw most managers are going to try and protect those two by being defensive in those circumstances.
