We are but arguably we had four poor transfer windows the last two years I think it is pretty unrealistic to expect us to repair all that damage in one summer. To get back up near the top of the best of the rest group might take a couple of seasons with several good transfer windows. I'd say we look better equipped for next season and a solid mid table finish will be progress.

As Boufal contributed next to nothing for two seasons I'm not sure how him leaving makes us a lot weaker. In the same way we won't be a lot weaker if we lose Long or Stephens. If Josh Sims can come in a manage 1 goal and 1 assist he has matched Boufal's contribution last season...seems like a lot of fans judge Boufal on what they think he could do rather than what he actually did do the last two seasons.

Dusan did seem to gain a reputation among some off our fans as a bad egg never understood why my understanding was he was a hard worker on the training ground. I don't think anyone is suggesting he is the answer to all our striker problems but are people really suggesting he couldn't be an upgrade on Shane Long and his two league goals in two seasons? I'd happily see Long shipped out and Gallagher given a chance as our third choice/impact sub/ league cup games striker instead to see what he can do.

He has had two seasons here and made very little impact. No player has the right to a run of games you have to convince the manager you are worth being in the first 11 and for whatever reason he has failed to convince three managers of that.

22 days to go until the window shuts wonder how much more business we will do? I still have the feeling the club would like to off load a few to trim the squad its just about finding someone who will actually take the likes of Forster, Boufal, Clasie, Davies and Long. Its looking hopeful on the players we all thought we might lose Bertrand, Cedric, Lemina and I guess the closer to the window the less chance we will sell (well you'd hope so anyway). I'm not convinced we will see anymore arrivals being optimistic perhaps one more before the window?

One of the reasons I reckon Bertrand and Cedric where so poor last season is the knew they where first names on the team sheet there was no one pushing for their places even if the where crap week after week. We'd get more out of them if they thought their position was under threat that way they have to play well to keep their place. That isn't going to happen using JWP or Reed as a stop gap RB.

I don't think Everton have bought anyone yet this summer, despite lots of links to players, seems they are trying to off load a few. I wonder if they might be trying to trim down the squad becuase recent transfer windows have them flying a bit to close to FFP limits or maybe the feel they have a good enough squad already.

I don't know how many bids from top six clubs have they received for their players...
