  1. The only thing the evidence suggests is Les has decided to do less press work.
  2. Ralph suggested in his post season interview the policy changed because the club wanted to build a team and tried to sign players/ give new contracts to player who where happy to stay longer rather than use the club as a stepping stone clearly that didn't work so maybe we are going back to what worked before.
  3. Oooh history I love a bit of history couple of points though it was Charles the second that married Catherine his father Charles the first was married to a French princess. Also the dowry was mostly Tangier and a big drain on English resources for no real gain (I'm sure someone on this thread can jump on that analogy) before the English where driven out 20 years latter by angry Berbers who wanted their city back ( I'm sure someone can make an analogy) In return Portugal got English military aid on land and at sea to help fight the Spanish so probably did better out of the deal than the English ( oops there's another a cheap analogy for the taking).
  4. Why would it matter unless McCarthy is afraid of healthy competition? From McCarthy's point of view his no doubt happy to have financial security for the next four years.
  5. I know at least one guy at work who voted Leave to stop people from the Indian sub continent (he used a slightly more abusive term) from coming here.. In fairness it isn't all about IQ both sides of the debate where to busy scare mongering and telling half truths rather than delivering the facts to allow people to make an informed choice.
  6. I'd go with that. The truth I think is the majority of the British public (I include myself in that) didn't really understand the complexities of the issues around Brexit. I firmly believe the majority where voting on an issue they didn't really understand. It didn't help that the whole referendum debate was fought like a general election campaign full of half truths, scare mongering and populist slogans. I think for an issue like this an independent body with no agenda should have just laid down a rhetoric free, unbiased version of the facts and possible outcomes to try and help people make an informed choice. Personally from speaking to friends, family and work colleges I know people who would have or would now vote differently had they had a better understanding of what they where voting for.
  7. Some players are just injury prone like Sturridge, Carroll, Ings, Austin and Wilshire. It's not that they aren't good players but unless they are on a free and cheap in wages a club is better off spending money on players who will make a more useful contribution to a season other than just keeping the club physio in work.
  8. I thought spurs where after him? I imagine he'd rather stay in London than go Liverpool.
  9. No way should Hoedt be getting in front of Yoshida in the first 11. And why would we downgrade the left wingback position when Bertrand is so much better than Targett?
  10. Second striker I guess.
  11. If we are going to play 5-3-2 ( or variations of) as Hughes did at the end of last season or in our first pre season game I'm not really sure where we are going to play another wide player?
  12. I think already have the "striker who doesn't play for half the season" spot covered not sure we need Ings as well.
  13. The whole signing was based on the club trying to show it was backing the manager... a manager who should have been sacked before the January window had even opened.
  14. He wouldn't have to do much to better Long's goal tally the last two seasons tbf
  15. I'd like us to sign one Gudio sadly wasn't a very good one. Some of our best football in recent years was played with a proper CF leading the line in Lambert or Pelle. I think we have missed that the last two seasons especially as Fullbacks/wingbacks crossing into the box is such a big part of our game.
  16. Guess it didn't work out at Dortmund if they are willing to sell him at a loss after one season.
  17. Which has what to do with the question I asked? I realise your raison d'etre on this forum is to try and point out the perceived hypocrisy in every post on here but **** me give it a rest you muppet
  18. Have Everton actually signed anyone yet? They, along with WHU, seem to be getting linked with any player with two legs yet I'm not sure how much actual business they have done.
  19. Reports I've seen say Liverpool are happy to listen for offers for Judas I think his time at Liverpool is done move on or stay as a bit part player are his options I think.
  20. I think we need to someone to push Cedric to be honest. Both Cedric and Bertrand played like players who knew they where the first names on the team sheet. Even when they where in poor form last season they knew there was no, realistically, better options behind them. Instead on signing a back up we should be signing someone as good as or better than Cedric competition for places will then hopefully lead to better performances.
  21. Is he one of those African players who is 15 going on 25...
  22. Not a big surprise never worked out here he just didn't seem suited to the PL or fit enough.
  23. Alternatively you get someone better than Cedric and make him the back up.
  24. Unless you're Burnley who scored less than us last season but finished best of the rest because their defence was rock solid.
  25. It was bizarre to give Forster a new contract after the Puel season. He was **** poor that season and yet was reward with a nice new contract. I'm sure we will never find out but I would love to know the thinking behind that decision.
