We will blow it in the league and end up finishing 3rd. We will then play Bompey twice in the play offs, beat them by a 5 goal aggregate, have a day out at Old Trafford and stutter to a 1-0 win over fronchise FC .... and there will be the biggest outbreak of mass hysteria followed 3 weeks later by mass rejoicing in the history of Southampton.

What age to take kids to saints - vftt. was wrong
Tamesaint replied to Sergei Gotsmanov's topic in The Saints
I am sure that you have done the right thing in taking her along at such an early age. I took my lad when he was the same age and there has been no other team for him since. -
I agree with everything you said there.

Did they give us a guard of honour at the end as we had beaten them???

This forum seems to have attracted quite a few "guests" of other teams in the last few weeks. One of the best things about today's result is that it seems to have scared them off this board. I wonder what would have happened if the result had not changed after 80 minutes. That weird Brighton / Manchester United fan has been on here for several months now trying to wind people up but in the last few weeks he has been joined by several other wind up merchants from Brighton -also anxious to demonstrate that they too have chips on their shoulders. Where are they tonight??? Clearly not man enough to appear tonight. This morning there was even a Huddersfield fan rubbing our noses in their win yesterday. All of a sudden he has gone quiet. Unfortunately our own temple of doom HAS appeared tonight. That Pompey fan who posts under the name Charlie Wayman has made an appearance. Yesterday evening according to him, we were destined to have another season in this league because Huddersfield had won at MK Dons (sic). Tonight he has managed to come out with a rather offensive comment related to our late goals today. With a bit of luck he may go the same way as the Brighton fans and disappear off our board completely.

He also commentates on cricket where a grasp of maths is required to undrstand what is going on!!

I agree. They are getting themselves so worked up on this subject that it will bea let down for them once it is over whilst it may well gee us up.

George Burley on TalkSport today said that Bale spent 2 years in the Championship. I know he made his debut right at the end of a season but to all intents and purposes it was really only a season that he played for us. Perhaps George had one too many last night?? Mind you, Burley did say that Bale left too early and would have benefited from another year of Championship football. Lets hope that Oxo heard that.

Griffin Park is the home of the Bees .... and the goalkeeper for Brentford Richard Lee is a beekeeper.

Thank Ryan for his performance today. I thought he was good. How confident is heof automatic??

Rochdale 2 - 0 Southampton - Post Match Reaction
Tamesaint replied to Saint_clark's topic in The Saints
I am beginning to think that you will need to change your approach to football. WE played Rochdale last night. -
You are correct. As I write the old Corp ho ho is n the forum reading this thread. Hi Corp. How are you doing?? Still feeling a little ashamed of yourself for writing such garbage earlier on this thread???
-
I liked the way that they quoted Fergie jr as saying that Posh need to win all their remaining matches for automatic. err even that will not be good enough if we win 4 out of our last 7... but why contradict a Ferguson - even if he is talking carp??
-
I would have given it to Jaidi

Super 'arry turning a profitable club into a club making substantial losses???? Surely not!! -
Isn't it strange how this reassuring statement was issued a few days AFTER the early bird deadline for renewing season tickets had expired.

My son is 18 years old. He is called Matthew. There are a lot of lads his age called Matthew in the Southampton area. I think that soon there will be a lot of lads called Adam growing up in Southampton.

hear hear, Are we going to have a hall of shame ?? Name all the bedwetters on here whose season was over when we were 0-2 down?? Come on own up. We know where you all live.
-
Gutted that I cannot make it today. Is the wotsit playing???
-
I took my lad when he was 5. It was against West Ham and we won with a Jason screamer from 25 yards out. To be honest it was the best thing I could have done. At the time he was just getting into football and from then onwards he was hooked on the Saints. I think it is the atmosphere which gets to them when they are at that age.

I understand that Alpine Posh is going mental on their forum.

That season (83/84) we not only should have won the cup but we should have won the league as well. We ended up as runners up just 3 points behind the eventual champions Liverpool. That season we dropped 3 points at home to the bottom team (notts County). I am sure that Lawrie must have made mistakes that day ... but I cannot remember what they were. Where he did muck up was in early April when he played a weakened team at Everton a week or so before the semi final. It was a morning game as the National was that day. it was a horrible game which we lost (1-0 I think). A full strength team couldn't have done any worse and 3 points there could well have won us the title. The saddest thing in writing this is that younger Saints may find it difficult to believe we were that close to doing the Double. It seems like a totally different world!!

I just knew it. Its just typical of the man. Trust Lowe to leave 10 minutes before the end. I always knew that he was one of those!! Mind you Leaving that early must have meant that he missed the Charlton equaliser !!! I wonder if he knows the final score.
