  1. I suppose the majority of skates are pretty well acquainted with court hearings.
  2. I think the key word is unduly. ie They are worried about it but do not want to admit to it.
  3. If the administrator is going to investigate where the money has gone from all the sales over the last few years, he will be a very busy boy. Is he going to have time to find any buyers for the club??
  4. Yeah..... but I let those cones were put out really well!!!!
  5. Tanya on £250k!!! They could have got a decent Finance Director for less than that.
  6. I will be both surprised and upset if he is not allowed to continue the job that he has started.
  7. So what date do you reckon the police will make their first appearance at Nottarf?? I give it about 10 days. I reckon that the administrator already has a pretty good idea of what has been going on. It will not take him very long to work out what has been going on. Getting the police brought in could well mean that he could get rid of Storrie without forking out a seven figure payoff. So I go for the beginning of the week after next ... round about March 9th.
  8. Brilliant comment. A true tea spitting out over the keyboard moment. I think you mean Notting Hill rather than Love Actually ... but it is easy to confuse them
  9. What has happened in this scenario to the football debts?? If they are not paid in full, they are not allowed back into the F League. Don't worry - they are toast.
  10. As it turned out .... no. Saints never got a mention!!
  11. It starts at 11.15 on Radio 4. It may be interesting....
  12. So Story Teller is interviewed by Rebecca Lowe .... I wonder if she could get her old man to invest in Pompey????
  13. No - they do not have that option..... and if they are still at the proof of funds stage, they are miles from finalising a deal. Proof of funds was one of the first stages of our takeover. It took weeks and weeks between proving funds and being taken over.
  14. It got Ian Botham
  15. I defy anyone who reads PES 's post of 11.25pm last night (post no 14515) not to feel a tiny , tiny bit of sympathy for the blue few. What a farce. How on earth can a football club end up in the hands of Middle Eastern mobsters?? And his post doesn't even mention the recently charged Doctor or the tax avoiding trio of Mandaric, Rednapp and Story Teller. The football authorities in this country are an absolute disgrace. Scum like this should not have been allowed anywhere near a football club. I do feel sympathy for any long standing Pompey fans who have supported their club over the years and who have now been deposited in the middle of this farce. They will be better off as AFC Pompey somewhere in the non league hierarchy if it means that their club becomes clean. Mind you .... it is great fun watching them suffer and I am loving every minute of it!!!!
  16. More people in the lounge than on the main board!! I wonder which thread they are reading???
  17. Possibly because a Finance Director can be sued if a business is found to be trading insolvently. A Finance Manager cannot ???
  18. According to the Pompey rag the Statement of Affairs is going to contain details of the new investors. Why?? Isn't it about whether they are trading whilst insolvent?? Story Teller's 2 imaginary friends (lets call them the Tooth Fairy and Santa Claus) are probably very confident of being able to inject funds on thursday. If they do not win Wednesday's lottery they can always play again on saturday. What worries me is if they come up with another co ck & bull story about being able to pay the club's debts which is then percieved to be the lifeline for the club..
  19. That was eaten last week by the players after training.
  20. I guess that people who consider him a liability were not at our last home league match against Stockport. He transformed the game when he came on with 25 minutes left. No idea about goals / shots ratio but with 8 goals from 15 starts (and 12 sub appearances) his goal scoring record is not that bad.
  21. Would we be expected to pay for that - or could it be done in conjuction with the train operator? I would have thought that building a station would be more of a problem .... but where my parents live a station has recently been built fairly easily.
  22. Twice in the last week Marcus Lebherr has seen sell outs at St Mary's. There have been 3 sellouts since Christmas. Do you think he may be tempted to extend St Mary's? If not now, then when?? I remember being told on a tour of St Mary's that it would be possible to extend it by removing the roof on 3 of the stands and then building an extra tier. The only area where that would not be possible was the Itchen stand. The capacity could be brought up to a figure nearer (I think) 50,000. Cost would obviously be an issue. In addition there could be a problem with the infrastructure. How could we get 50,000 people into that area of Southampton on a regular basis? Marcus could hopefully however see this as a worthwhile investment and be prepared to pay for this extension - whilst I am sure that making better use of the railway line next to the ground could help in the moving of supporters to and from the grround on matchdays. This time last year, when we were struggling to fill half the current ground, we were light years away from asking this question .If the team starts to rise through the leagues and we have more and more sell outs however, I would like to think that extending the ground would appear as an issue on Marcus's radar.
  23. You have to admit - the writer of this piece clearly knows his audience. He kept the headline down to 2 words. Each paragraph consists of just one sentence. I guess he is hoping that by keeping it simple, one member of each Pompey family will be able to read his piece out aloud to their less literally-able family members.
  24. Probably why she left the board in the first place. She knew that what was going on was wrong and didn't want to be liable for it. At the very least she probably has professional qualifications which she would lose.
