  1. The choke is on. 😁😁😁😁
  2. I have not yet seen the programme. What happened to these sub postmasters was an absolute disgrace. It was a huge miscarriage of justice and the actions of senior Post Office managers cannot be condoned. I can understand however how this happened. I was a manager in Post Office Counters in the mid / late 1980s. Amongst other things I was responsible for the financial probity of over 250 sub postmasters. I had an internal audit team whose full time job was to audit sub post offices (and Crown offices). It is not incorrect to say that some sub postmasters (definitely a very small minority - but nevertheless some) were perceived to be *on the fiddle*. There was an instance just before I took up post when a sub postmaster stole over £300k before he fled to Pakistan never to be seen again. The culture of the Post Office was to distrust all sub postmasters. It is this culture that led to this miscarriage. At the end of the day Post Office looks after public money which needs to be controlled. Unfortunately this need for control went very wrong in these instances. I left the Post Office in 1988 and knew nothing about the Horizon system. If I had stayed however I do wonder if I would have been caught up in this appalling affair.
  3. J Rednapp talks clearly and can string a sentence together. Different from mumbling Wayne.
  4. Yes. Its sponsored by the same people who pay Duckie to use the word "pony" in his posts.
  5. .... and if Corbyn was the PM and had been ignored there would have been no whinging from the gammons.
  6. I must say that over the Christmas period I have enjoyed the number of matches that we have played. 4 in 10 days is great entertainment and is IMO what people want. Compare this with the way that Premier League fixtures have been spaced out over the corresponding period. Matches at odd times and on random dates - no thanks.
  7. Has anyone seen Guided Missile and Rishi in the same room together?? Just saying . 🤫🤫
  8. THB will be in the full England squad at the end of next season. A season with us in the EPL and he will be a shoe in for England. Unfortunately for Saints I can also see him being on a Big 6 club radar (Liverpool??) and he will be sold for £60 million. I am not sure about Edozie. Not convinced he will earn an England cap.
  9. Why on earth will he "regret this"??? Is he another one for the cheese wire when your day comes?
  10. "Twat"??? "Chippy prick"??? Guided Missile. Say no more.
  11. Not sure about that. I thought they sang loud for much of the match. "Siuthampton's a Northern shithole" made me laugh as did "You're only here for the Argyle".
  12. I like the fact that despite our league position and our unbeaten run we seem to be flying under the radar. Ok nearly everyone in the media knows that the Premier. League is the only division that matters but even the people who concentrate on the EFL seem to be missing us. eg Tonight on 5 LIVE. the EFL expert reckoned that tonight Ipswich could build on their advantage over Leeds. eg They were according to BBC Sport cheering Preston's goal v Leeds in Suffolk.... but no mention of Hampshire. Long may we stay under the radar. I am certainly not complaining .. but imagine the media wankfest if a team of Klopp's went 16 games unbeaten. 😁
  13. Some of us can only dream about being in the CoT.
  14. Chair certainly got the home fans rocking. I'll get my coat.
  15. Are you sure that you have been paying attention???
  16. Some people have weird priorities in what they consider to be "news". We get a letter each year from acquaintances which follows the same format. The 2 kids write their bit, he writes his bit and then the wife writes hers. A few years ago we learnt all about the dog's skin condition, the new tent that they had bought and the kid's swimming lessons before gettng to "Tina's bit " where she informed us that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer and was undergoing extensive chemo - a little more important than Goldie's flea problem!!
  17. Third. The 7 time loser has lost again.
  18. Would anyone like to argue against this assessmrnt? https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2023/dec/09/need-a-christmas-party-game-try-ranking-13-years-of-tory-screwups-in-order-of-severity?CMP=Share_AndroidApp_Other
  19. The legal bills would put the total cost nearer to a nice round £300 million.
  20. Virtually every profession has auditors and inspectors who check and report on standards. Nobody likes to be checked and the inspections are inevitably a time of stress for the auditee. They are also inevitable and "come with the job". In this instance it would appear from the remarks of the coroner that Ofsted performed this check in a shocking manner. As Hypo says, Ofsted need to demonstrate humanity and empathy and avoid an adverserial approach. Clearly this time they did not - with tragic consequences. To paraphrase the old Roman expression "who checks the Ofsted checkers?" Somebody clearly needs to.
  21. Only a matter of time. 🤫
  22. Presumably under this sort of legislation if Rishi was to announce that the sky is green and that grass is blue the courts would have to believe him.
  23. 6 Civil war in the Conservative party?
  24. At PMQ's today Starmer, after mentioning our 11 game unbeaten run, claimed that "in the words of the song Sunak gets battered everywhere he goes." 😁😁😁
  25. You missed the classic "I got all the big decisions right."
