Negotiating contracts with out of contract players

OK - I admit it. I didnt take into account potential. You're quite correct. -
Charlie - our team would not compete in the 3rd Division now mate let alone WHEN our men leave in the summer due to the way they've been managed this season - I have been watching strugglers Swindon occassionally and both performances I saw were genuinely better than all the Saints performances I have witnessed this season (didnt go to Ipswich mind).
-
The worrying thing about this - if you read the report in The Echo - is that it seems to insinuate that Gorre was more disappointed with the performance as the players had the ADDED incentive of having Wotte in the stands. I suppose that's why Wotte has launched this public attack on the kids. Does last night illustrate the lack of respect the players have for Wotte? or... Are our kids really just crap? Or.. is Gorre crap? http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/news/4234634.Gorre_at_a_loss_to_explain_reserves__horror_show/ Whatever the reason, I am not sure public humiliation of individual players is necessary or breeds team spirit and morale, honestly Wotte will be criticising the fans next!

I think this fred should be closed as I nearly had a heart attack when reading the title 10 seconds ago.

Negotiating contracts with out of contract players

Kelvin Davis seems a no brainer, but will leave when we relegate. Poke - No. Not good enough. Perry - Yes, simply MUST retain Perry. Svensson - No. Injured and finished. BWP - No. Not good enough for League 1 or CCC. Stern John - Yes, still afew years left in him - but will want to leave anyway when we relegate due to his treatment this season after keeping us up last. Euell - Yes, but will want to leave when we relegate due to his management this season. Jamie Hatch - No. Not good enough for League 1. Lloyd James - No. Not good enough for League 1. Jake Thomson - No. Not good enough for League 1. Ryan Smith - No. Not good enough for League 1. Jack Boyle - No. Not good enough for League 1. Joseph Mills - No. Not good enough for League 1. Jeffrey Imudia - No. Not good enough for League 1. Andrej Pernecky - No. Not good enough for League 1. Jamie White - Yes clear potential. Michael Byrne - No. Not good enough for League 1. Saeijs - Definite. Must sign. Dyer - MUST sign, but again will want to leave after the way he's been managed this season. Oh dear doesnt look good this youth experiment does it? -
If we're not paying ours dues then what club will deal with us in terms of giving us loanee players?
-
Yes - its hollowed out and heading down. But Wotte is the man in charge and ultimately takes the rap for motivation.

There has to be. If we keep Lowe we deserve everything that comes to us. How many failures can we take before we finally realise he's a loser?

How do you know all this stuff Steve? You should get out more you know lol -
I have the same feeling.
-
Perhaps... if he had to fight for his place.
-
That worries me.
-
For DMG? £400K lol you must be joking! He's not worth that.
-
Barnsley may be worth watching you're right there. Norwich will be OK IMHO. I think TDDs is right - Plymouth may relegate. My prediction is: Plymouth SAINTS Charlton
-
I dont think they'll be a surge of optimism like last season with Lowe/Wotte still in charge, more a sigh of relief. There will not be a pitch invasion celebration as we're away in Nottingham for the last game. But, then thats a shame, because the first of the Lowe Out protests will be denied an opportunity. I think that's more likely than a wave of optimism.
-
OK - so an analysis... Club finances are therefore either OK, Lowe thinks we'll stay up, relegation will be secure financially or he is planning on taking the 10 point deduction and admin in League 1...arguably for the good of a takeover by senior shareholders. 4 options there. Personally I am relieved, as I firmly believe Lowe, Askham and/or others may have a plan to increase their holding over Saints if we go into administration - the reason? A firm refusal to put the club up for sale or even declare it as being so. This does mean however that the boardroom power struggle has yet to play out, and as a result we shall probably continue to fall with morale around the ankles as has been the case for sometime. I still worry that we may go into admin in League 1 for the reasons above however, which delays our promotion back to the CCC for several years potentially. To be honest, consolidating ownership in League 1 would be cheaper. But also, I think a lynch mob would have been over to SMS like a shot if Lowe had taken admin now when we theoretically do still have a chance of staying up. Its got to be good news - of my 4 options at least x3 of them are positive, x1 not so. Watch Lowe like a hawk over the summer once our plight is known. If he doesnt leave I suggest we have problems.

This Season - Carbon Copy of Wotte's Relegation of Den Bosch

****!?!! You may be on to something there Ponty!? A new Lowe strategy?! So he changes the team from men to boys, then boys to women, then football to his beloved hockey! Surely that's it!! Afterall its not Southampton FC plc but 'Leisure Holdings'! Lowe's real strategy revealed! Tell you what though... I'd rather see a womens hockey team play in SMS at the moment! Lowe's a genius. -

I am not so sure. He comes with Lowe as a pair, or at best is labelled with that indignity. I think he'll always be judged based on that Ponty... unless he gets us into the PL at the end of next season! I hope so, but as I have already volunteered to eat my own earwax if we survive this season (such was my certainty), I would pledge to eat alot worse if he achieved that!
-
Indeed, compared to JP and the previous club policy. But as I continually post, judge Wotte on the whole. He has been instrumental to the youth **** up from August last year and has changed club policy since JPs removal to include the playing of whatever experienced professionals we had left. That is the secret of Wotte's managerial success: 'you dont win anything with kids'. Trouble is - we havent got enough men to survive now IMHO.
-
Yep. But, you and I both know the tone, manner and consistency of saying that only the 'real' fans come and support/dont protest etc was not quite as simple as 'suggesting the non-attending fans don't help the club avoid relegation' as you put it. Yes, I won't miss his slagging of the fans.

OK - I'm no expert in the herdy gurdy but I'd guess it says: Wotte has always had to keep moving from clubs like feyenoord due to having affairs with ladies. ... I think we know that already. But still interested in a proper translation! -
Agreed - continuity of what? Being at the bottom of the league and slagging the fans?
