I'm not joining the profession to be liked. No opinion matters to me until they have spent a day in a classroom. That rules Gove out then.
-
I would genuinely take any of them, and I think they'd all be a valuable addition to our strikeforce, which I don't think would then require any further work for next season.
-
Whether the strike is necessary or not (i'm firmly in the necessary camp), at least it shows the Tories that teachers won't roll over and accept every single daft proposal that they have for the education system and teachers as a whole. You can bet your bottom dollar that if they weren't striking, Gove would have his calculator and flip chart out wondering what else he could f*ck up without any real opposition.

I've heard Barney Trubble did it off a 600ft cliff, only without a paraglide! He's a hero you know.
-
Of course, when they came back to your house you'd be a massive help wouldn't you, being 6ft under and all. They'd all know you weren't there 24/7. They could come back, rape your wife and children, murder them too and where would you be Barney eh?? What an amazing husband and dad you must be, thinking of being seen as a "hero" rather then being alive to look after your family! What a sad selfish little man. And you don't think i'd challenge them too? Have a word! But there are times in life where you have to think of other people except your own pig ignorant self. I'm so proud of your hero instincts though, needless to say if I came and robbed your house i'd enjoy watching you try and get anywhere near me, and you'd probably end up drinking through a straw you'd no doubt enjoy telling everyone what a little hero you were though.

It always reminds me of that Only Fools and Horses episode. Classic.

So Barney, if someone had a handgun and a 6 inch knife on them, you'd fancy a fight over a TV, risking your life and your families future? That isn't so much having no backbone, more being sensible. If they are unarmed that's a different matter, but it's difficult to tell i'm sure. Or would you be the type of brave hero where your children can only visit you in a morgue?

Cortese is a hugely successful banker. EVERYTHING he does in regards to finances (ST sales, new shirts etc) will be based around tax and saving the club money in the long run.
-
Teachers are not babysitters. Parents are only concerned about finding child care for the day as their regular care will be removed. Tough, quite frankly.
-
I expect he has made a U-turn. Oh no, sorry, I mean "shown strong leadership skills and reconsidered the position of the government."
-
Danns was never a realistic target after his agent confirmed at the start of June that he was looking for Champions League football!

This is The Lounge, we only deal with hearsay, crap media and personal opinion, not facts!! You have a point though...

I certainly don't think many Championship strikers will be too worried about facing Pearce. That includes ours too.

Norwaysaint's post was indeed ironic. He is Deppo/Atticus Finch of Maycomb/Kardeem Hardison. All one and the same.

Dawn really was extremely helpful, what a lovely lady! I have sorted him Notts Forest away in January. She's sending the paperwork to me so it'll be a nice xmas surprise for him.
-
Whether he is worth it or not, at least it will shut up the people saying we haven't got any money to spend.
-
It looks like you're the only person getting bothered...
-
It makes fantastic Tory propaganda though.

What's the age limit? I've a 13 year old cousin who would still absolutely love it who is going through a very difficult time at the moment following the passing of his mother. It would mean alot to get something happy organised for him.

Equal prize money is OK but it should be best of 5 sets these days not 3. Some of them are more manly then the men!
-
If they think it will stop anyone drinking the HC are sadly mistaken. Will be an early start that morning now, that's for sure.
-
£4 million for Maynard?? He might be good but blimey, Hernandez was only £6 million. I don't blame Cortese for not getting involved in these ridiculous deals.

It's extremely hard I think to judge a "poor teacher" as it's so subjective. It can't be based purely on exam results, as for some children not even the greatest teachers of the world would have any bearing on their results. Of course if OFSTED rate you as inadequate then their is a problem, but once again that is only the opinion of one person and shouldn't be taken as gospel on the first occasion. Perhaps it's due to unsupportive management teams or a lack of options for behaviour management. They without doubt exist, but it's much harder to weed them out then it would be a Tesco manager with ever decreasing people going to his shop.

Mike, pick the 4 off this thread that you prefer/the general concensus of this thread prefer, and then hold a forum wide vote for the best one. Then that will be accepted and you won't bear the grudge of people who don't like it.
