  1. I wish Gao had never bought us and that we had an owner with a local presence and some real interest in us other than as an investment for his own gain or for his own ego in China. But we have got him and the good side is that he doesn't interfere with the people who are in day to day charge and they have a clear policy and are capable of carrying it out. Things could be a lot worse. It is the rich clubs who are living in a bubble, we are in the real world. Its only a section of fans who don't accept the realities and want to be in the bubble.
  2. Its a success story to have stayed up ten years, what are you moaning about? We've done it without the capital investment the rich guys have had. Others come and go, we carry on without the riches, and we are still there--be proud
  3. Yes, understood, I am 86, but the Terry years remain unforgettable to me. Sorry for those who missed them!
  4. I am amazed Terry Paine is left off so many lists. he was top creator and top scorer for 16 seasons and in all divisions. Was it so long ago some never saw him?
  5. Perhaps they need a week on to be prepared for the Leeds game
  6. Peter Shilton Alf Ramsey (yes, I am very old) Gareth Bale Steve Williams Van Dyke Matt Le T Terry Paine Mike Channon Ron Davies Sadio Mane John Sydenham
  7. No corner kicker, no free kick specialist will land the ball on the head of any of our forwards because the front line is ridiculously small except for Broja who didn't even get a kick never mind a header. have they won a header all season?
  8. He's here to stay, long term. He has had to get rid of a load of highly paid wasters. He's done that. Now he has to build afresh--without any investment from the owners. That is a work in progress. It just hasn't progressed far yet. It will, we will end 12th this season
  9. Yes, but the fact is he took five wkts in the short time he did bowl. If you don't trust your bowlers don't pick them, we could have done with another batsman
  10. inept attacking play all match and did Broja even touch the ball? We have non one to win a header, we are under sized and light weight
  11. Thanks for that---but how complicated can they make it for ordinary folk to know what's going on?
  12. No one has answered why Crane was selected and not used. Also, excuse my ignorance but the points system seems to show we won half a match, don't understand the points system can anyone explain?

    Danny Ings

If comparing Ings and Armstrong, of course Ings is the better at the moment which is why he cost twice as much as Armstrong. But Ings is near the end of his career, Armstrong is beginning his Premier career. My guess is--in the long run, we are the winners.
  14. Why was Crane selected and then not used until it was too late--even then he took five wickets and got us to within an ace of victory. If he had come on half an hour earlier we would be champions now
  15. This Forum treated Sadio Mane as rubbish when he arrived. Abuse was poured on him 'waste of money' 'get rid' and so on. This management will give Lyanco time to settle, time to learn, yesterday was just the beginning of the process
  16. Selection shows a strength in depth which is what we were lacking last year
  17. Give Armstrong a few weeks to adapt to Premier football, this Forum judges too quickly, Mane was written off as rubbish here, now he's got 100 goals for someone else.
  18. Great to have such a choice compared with last season. Really we have a new team built round JWP. I up my forecast to 10th instead of 17th end of season
  19. Time to appreciate what Ralph is building. he's cleared out the deadwood and got a young set full of hope. And he's done it without the sort of money others have. Can the cynics and snipers give Ralph and the rest of us a rest, please.
  20. Will 'fans' ever stop the moaning about Ralph, whatever he does, and start appreciating what he is building for us?
  21. Thank God we are not managed by this forum. Thanks Ralph and let's hope supporters actually support you. Great effort by everyone
  22. WE haven't had a win yet and we may get a beating at City and the cry babies may be out in force calling for the manager's head. Oh dear, the reality is we have a stronger club than last year, and a younger one. The challenge is not City, the challenge is the matches with Watford, Brentford, Burnley, Newcastle, Norwich oh and Arsenal. Bedwetters, you can keep your sheets dry whatever the result this week.
  23. I'm optimistic too and I would be more optimistic if 'supporters' were better supporters instead of wanting Shane Theo and both goalies shot. I think Shane has given us whole hearted highly professional service for years and I'm pleased the club thanked him with an extended contract, I am pleased we brought Theo home FREE and that he contributes among all age groups and I hope his future will be with the Club as a coach or mentor for future generations and as for the two goalies, yes we need an improvement and it is promised when present contracts allow. Not everything can be done in one window and a lot has been done Well done Ralph and co. COYR
  24. We've gone beyond Obafemi, good luck to him, hope he does well but there's no way in for him here now, so he gets a new opportunity, we get him off the wage bill and a little cash, win win for all parties, well done Saints great window.
  25. I prefer what we have signed
