  1. Yjere is a definite "Gulf" now between Cortese and us FANS I fully accept that SFC must be run as a Business ......... ...... but NOT at all costs ( excuse pun) The last thing I want to see is Saints becomming a SOULESS place Don't alienate us too much Mr Cortese, this season we are not on the euphoric drug of having :cool:a New Owner
  2. I agree, tickets ARE fairly priced, but that is not the issue I don't think anyone thought that the Payments scheme, as acknowledged in the "Supporters Charter" was only going to last for a few MONTHS So, the FIRST indication that that facet was being SCRAPPED, was a few days ago, when the ST prices were announced Had the Club said, a FEW MONTHS back that for 2010 there would be no "Instalments" facility, then those fans going down that route would mody likely have started to put by some money towards a ST ... or ST's I'm lucky, I only have me to worry about, and can afford to pay in one hit But there ARE some, ie Family's that this will be a big hardship for, and it is those cases that the Club SHOULD listen to and LOOK AFTER AS LOYAL FANS:cool: For a Family of 4, circa £1000 is a big hit all at once To Cortese it is petty cash Think again SFC, or you will lose GENUINE FANS:cool:
  3. So, it's been a few feverish days since the "Money Up Front" Launch ......... How many ST's have SFC sold so far ???
  4. And my Grandmother ......... .......... and HER Grandmother:D:)
  5. Cheers for that :)
  6. If Calderon is THAT good, why are Brighton NOT offering him a new contract ??? (Doesn't mean he has to accept)
  7. There is a big difference between "falling by the wayside", and being FORCED to forego going to St Mary's because of (their) financial situation. SFC is prepared to LOSE genuine Supporters, virtually because of a Means Test, and that is bad Had the Club announced this in Feb or March, fine, but a few days ago ?? That is Krap No time whatsoever to make alternative financial plans BAD PR by SFC, it simply shows they do NOT care about even a small section of the Fan Base:cool:
  8. So, being loyal in your eyes is down to whether or not you actually PAY to go to a game, or games ??? I know someone who has NEVER been to a game, but is Saints through and through, a LOYAL Supporter Why ??? because the poor guy is incapacitated, and Physically CANNOT go to St Mary's ......but you would have to travel far to find a more passionate or Loyal Saints fan IMHO Whether you see it or not,SOME people will NOT be able to afford ST's up front They will most likely Pay on the day, BUT, they can now be selective, and pick the best matches That means that SFC WILL lose out, because instead of "having" to go because you have already paid for you ST, you can decline to go for less appealing fixtures So, where is the good business sense in that ???
  9. There is nothing wrong, IN PRINCIPAL, to introduce a Pay Up Front policy BUT Where, IMHO, the Club has gone wrong, is the timing of it NO Supporter had a clue this was going to be introduced UNTIL the ST Prices were announced, leaving those that had in the past paid by instalments with very little time to stump up the ready's ONE ST = not a lot of problem, but where Mr Cortese's doctrine falls down, is for Family's, ie 4 people That sort of money is hard to get hold of in one hit at ANY time, let alone a recession Mr Cortese SHOULD amend the policy slightly, IMHO People who want to pay by instalments, just for the sake of it, they should pay up front The "Family" scenario, (as above) should have a "dispensation", to allow staggerred payment What Mr Cortese should realise is 4 x £300 is peanuts to him, but it is A LOT OF MONEY to a FAMILY Will this fall on deaf ears ???? YES, I'm afraid it will, but whether Mr Cortese realises, or even CARES, he has erased a lot of the Good Feel Factor generated last season when we ALL were supporting the start of a New Era at St Mary's SHAME:cool:
  10. As opposed to making it very hard (for some) to pay "up front", especially if it is a Family (Mum,Dad, 2 kids) I am lucky, and can afford to pay up front, but I know MANY Fans that simply cannot afford the outlay RIGHT NOW The decision MUST be recinded, they are simply kicking the not so fortunates in the teeth IMHO LOOK AFTER YOUR FANS, DON'T DISCRIMINATE AGAINST THEM If you have a Season Ticket, you most likely will go to all the Home Games If you don't have a Season Ticket, then come a wet windy rainy day, or a really Kr*p Opponent ........ You won't go Simples Whichever way you look at it, this decision IS going to seriously implode on ST Sales:cool:
  11. You are nearly right ... it would be an IDIOTIC Businessman's thought process We had circa 10000 ST Holders in 2009, but IMHO, a lot will not renew because we are STILL in the Third Division 51000 at Wembley ? Yes, but that was a special "Feel Good Factor" Day, and, at the time, we were still in with a shout for the Play Offs We will NOT walk ANY League, Success on the field has to be earnt, with a GOOD squad We sold out last season because (again) of the eurphoric Feel Good Factor. It may have escaped Mr Cortese, but NEXT season will not have such a Factor. For a lot of people, Times are hard £300 -£400 may be "Petty Cash" to Cortese, but it is a lot of hard earnt money to a lot of SUPPORTERS Instead of (continuing) to help Saints Fans to pay for their Season Tickets, they are kicking them in the teeth by withdrawing the option of Payments AS STATED IN THE FANS CHARTER My message to Cortese is quite simple THINK AGAIN, BECAUSE YOU HAVE MADE A SERIOUS ERROR OF JUDGEMENT:cool:
  12. Not much of a recomendation.... Stevie Wonder is better than Forecast IMHO
  13. As I understand it, they do have a buyer, but the buyer wants to ensure that they have Selhurst Park to play on ( logical) The stumbling block is the RBS who are selling the ground separately, and their "plans" are less than workable Typical of a Bank to Kok up transactions relating to genuine purchases such as these, IMHO:cool:
  14. Why didn't you save the cash you would have spent ??[/b] ............" if you'd gone to Confused .com " .......... Sorry, couldn't resist it :D:D:)
  15. Fair point ..... e very welcome, but rare exception you will agree ???
  16. He may be French ..... but I never compared him to Napoleon
  17. That's what I call a Local Derby .........
  18. If he wants to go, he will go .... Simple as that When is the last time you have heard ANY Club, or ANY player say "I do not want to leave " "We have no plans to sell" or "I am happy here" is NOT saying a player won't go .... they ALWAYS keep their options open My opinion ??? FWIW .....Third Division in the UK, v Higher Grade Footy ,,,, No contest:cool:
  19. 10th July 2009 I believe What's the panic ?????????
  20. I didn't know their ground could hold 4 ???
  21. Marwell opens at 8 am ................:)
  22. Much Adu about nothing ............
  23. OK, 125 years is a mile stone, but WHY do people think the Club should deliberately lose revenue bu what would be a crazy £125 ST ??? Makes no sense Next season, (hopefully) we will be watching a very serious Promotion Push That will mean even MORE outlay from Mr Leibherr, coupled with even more outlay re Players Salaries Celebrate our 125 Years by all means, but not by foregoing what would be Millions in Revenue through the turnstiles:cool:
  24. Agreed, a poor show from a supposed "Professional" outfit It may change once they have sorted the "In House" catering situation However, should anyone conected with the Heirarchy at SMS be viewing this site ... I know of Three Pubs, One in the City, and Two on the outskirts, who went down the road of Plastic glasses In each case, the Punters voted with their feet and stayed away All three of them have reverted back to REAL glasses:cool:
  25. It is generally accepted that to insult a "black" man, is being Racist So, Kindly explain the difference between insulting "black" people, as opposed to German, French, Indian etc etc ?? Don't those countries have the same rights as the "black" people ?? You seem to be saying that if Alf Garnet insulted Germans, French, Indian etc etc, that was perfectly OK But to do it against the "black" races, that was Taboo Seems a bit of an unequak equation to me:cool::rolleyes:
