That's not the question. Look over the season...what saves did he not make that most PL (and championship) keepers should be making? The honest answer is bloody loads. We've been treated to Shilton, Flowers, Niemi, and all sorts of decent keepers. I cannot think of one regular first team keeper in my time as a fan who's been worse than this lad.

That's a bizarre opinion. On any assessment he was trying to take the ball but missed. He either had to get the ball or stay (in a proper position, which to be fair is beyond him) but not what he did.

I don't believe that Willy, or probably any other keeper in a PL clubs first team squad, would have flapped at that cross like Baz. His positioning at various times was as shocking as usual as well. I also think several of Bednarek's decisions were based on his lack of faith in Baz behind him - clearances to touch were considered safer than relying on his keeper. He's appalling and I'd replace him with whoever out of McCarthy and Willy is doing best in training.

  6. Yep. Awful. Poor movement. Terrible touch. Looks disinterested.
  7. FFS Del, Janny b! Yep, utter joke though. That header to touch was desperate. In other news , where tf is Alcaraz playing? And who sanctioned the signing of Sulemena?
  8. Not bad that. Hopefully that'll be a 433. That's a nice combination on midfield. Walcott has looked handy when he's played, and Sulemena will hopefully be much more productive left of a 3 rather than up top. KWP is a better left back than Perraud imo. Hard to make a case for Bednarek though.
  9. If you watched the game I'm amazed how you didn't see what JWP added when he replaced Lavia. Selles singled him out for good reason.
  10. There's usually a bit of good in every bad season, and we've not had it yet. My issue is that I don't think that the players give a monkeys, and I don't see us turning the corner.

  12. You didn't watch the Grimsby game?!
  13. Selles is right. I watched the Grimsby match on paramount. The commentators shared my view in Lavia - he's a very classy player with all the talent in the world but he needs too many touches, slows us down, and rarely helps move ys up the pitch. Compare that to JWP when he replaced him - one touch, passing forwards, and moving us up the pitch. He's going to be a superb player, but at the moment I'm not sure he's the answer in a midfield 2. I'd like to see him in a 3 with JWP and Alcaraz.

    Nathan Tella

You're still basing your opinion on last year's version of the lad. If you've watched him this season, you'll have seen a much improved player. Your post also focuses on what player we'd have had if he hadn't been loaned, but ignoring the player we'd have got had we recalled him in the new year. Who would you have preferred on the left last night. Orsic or this seasons Tells? Off the bench - the improved Tella or Aribo? Edozie with his step overs and nothing else, or Tella?

As have all of our recent signings... Scotland, league 1, kids leagues, France, Croatia, etc. The championship is stronger than many of them.

    Nathan Tella

You keep judging Tella on the raw player he was last season under Ralph. Others are judging him in the improved player that he is this season during which he's had decent coaching and management. Last seasons version of Tella is irrelevant. He's much improved and he would have improved us last night, at the weekend, and at various times this season. Do you honestly think, for example, that he'd have offered less down the ledy last night than Orsic did?
  20. Agreed re Alcaraz, but he at least showed some urgency. Lavia was frustrating tonight, wanting touch after touch and then mostly playing simple balls. Neither were helped by our strikers dropping off next to Djenepo and Orsic though leaving no option for forward balls anywhere where we'd hurt them. Overall, it's hard to blame two young midfielders for that horror show.
  21. Good shout! May do the same. Vanilla shake as well.
  22. He was part of it tonight. Look how much better we were when JWP came on and used the call quickly and positively. He's a classy player, but he did the team no favours tonight.
  23. Alcaraz at least moved the ball quickly. Lavia needed about a half a dozen touches - a point made by the paramount+ commentators. I think he gets taken off cos he slows our play rather than fitness.
  24. The whole club is an embarrassment to football. We lost, at home, to a club who are only a few places above Eastleigh.
