Has there been a worse home performance in recent memory?
egg replied to saint1977's topic in The Saints
It doesn't and it can't. That's part of the reason that xG is such a nonsense - it doesn't factor in the lottery that is the reality of football, ie someone getting in the way, a worldy save, a foul, anything spontaneous or that otherwise just happens. It's nonsense. -
I didn't want Puel to go, but wouldn't have him back. That said, I'd have preferred to see a Puel organised team out there on Saturday than the shambles that we saw. There'd have been some fight and less goals.

"it's a fact that it was most likely to be 4-5 goals" Wtf is that nonsense? The only fact us that it was actually 6 goals. Anything else isn't a fact but an opinion. -

Mate, you're making yourself look a bit silly here. We got battered. Anyone who saw the game will tell you it could have been double figures. I'm not sure what you're hoping to prove banging on about stats and xG, or whatever. Just watch the bloody game and you'll see a team out thought and out fought lucky not to get smashed 10 nil. -
TWar "Ralph has improved the deteriorating Broja".
-
Tino has gone backwards. You've said time and again that Broja has been poor recently. That's not improvement. Djenepo has regressed too, ditto Diallo, and Walcott has fallen off a cliff. Regardless, he's tactically shite and unable to learn from his mistakes - yesterday is a case in point.
-
He's had a cracking half. Superb bit of covering when he drifted across to left centre back to sort out Salah. A decent RB must be able to defend first and foremost, and Walker does it well.
-
Easy to see why, shocking defender. Man City have targeted him all afternoon.
-
Dragged him into my fantasy team this week ahead of the double game week, especially the game against us. Feels wrong, but there's points at stake.
-
Thanks, couldn't find it to post. Embarrassingly easy for them. I'll wait for TWar to tell you that it wasn't 442 though!

Watch some matches. Compare how those teams compare to Chelsea. Maybe listen / read what Tuchel says. It's not complicated with a modicum of tactical understanding, but in simple terms, more men in the middle yesterday plus Mount between the lines plus a mobile Werner left us waiting to be picked off. Our 442 was easy to pick off.
-
To be fair, I'm sure most would have seen that 2 in the middle against their line up was mental.
-
Brilliant!! Tuchel saw it coming, set his team up to beat it, his team thrashed us 6 nil and then had a sleep for over half an hour, but "Ralph knows better about his own set up than Tuchel" 😂 Clueless. Absolutely fucking clueless.
-
So you think you know better than Tuchel. Jeez. I'll say again, when Tuchel talked about our predicable tactics and how easy we were to set up against, he called it a 442. If you or Ralph want to refer to the outer 2 in the middle 2 as something else be my guest, but it's nothing more than 442 with the wide men tucking in. Watch how City and Chelsea play. Its chalk and cheese. Chelsea won't be as bothered by the press as City, and set up with more bodies in the middle and between the lines to pick us off, which they did with ease. Without being disrespectful, I'll end a tactical discussion here as you've shown time again that a discussion with you is pointless.
-
I'll tell you the difference. Those teams play on the front foot and the pressing works against them. Against teams more counter attack minded, we get sucked into the press, and they pass over and around us. As for 442, Tuchel referred to it as a 442...don't be telling us you know better than him.
-
Yep, it's just Chris Wood. If you said that Armstrong had a higher ceiling than him, we'd agree for once! Re your possibly to Potter on another post. No possibly for me, he's done wanders with a limited squad at BHA.
-
Yep. It's embarrassing reading what Tuchel said. Essentially, they knew we'd play 442 with 2 number 6's pressing high, so picked Werner and Mount to go behind and pick us off. Easy as peas. It's obvious to anyone with anyone with any tactical sense that you don't concede the midfield and you keep it tight. It was like he was trying to see how he could pick a team and more tactics more mental than Liverpool away.
-
How about a thread 'Current PL managers with more predictable and easier to pick off tactics than Ralph'. Tuchels post match comments highlight the predictability of how we set up. The sad thing is that we can see it. Ralph seemingly can't.

Cheers, hope she's gonna be OK. The insinuation from your first post was that she had a heart issue as a consequence of a vaccine, but is the heart issue from the Graves? Are you saying that the vaccine caused the Graves? I asked my initial question if what came first heart issue or covid quite deliberately - there's this huge rush to blame the vaccine on heart and other health issues on the vaccine, without looking at the more obvious cause being covid.
-
Sorry to hear this. Can I ask though, what came first, heart issues or covid?
