Yep. He's a huge talent, but we needed instant delivery, not "one for the future". That said, he turned us around yesterday, and he'll be a big help for the rest of the season.
You do not mention that we could have recalled him in the window. I agree that loaning him in the summer was the correct decision for the reasons you state, but I think there's little doubt that he'd have improved us if he'd been recalled in the window.
He obviously thinks Lavia and Walcott need a rest with another game in a few days. Assuming they do, there's no obvious alternative to Diallo in midfield. Out wide, I'd prefer Stu Armstrong over Ely but his choice was between those 2.
Not just doctors...the McLeod judgement will push loads of employees over the limit. When implemented, that judgement will have pushed lots of medics into retirement. Loads of NHS employees over 60 will still have minimal incentive to continue working, but the increased cap will doubtless keep some people working.
