That was tragic. However, the family were safe in Turkey. They wanted to go to Canada where entry was refused, and there was some issue with the application form. They had no need to take that trip and they capsized a few mins from where they set off. Thus, any RNLI equivalent would have taken them to where they set sail from, not where they were heading. The heart breaking photo of the lad shouldn't get in the way of the facts.

Have you read our accounts, and the very helpful summary someone posted recently? If you haven't, I'd recommend it. The explanation is all there. The simple explanation is that we spend more than we generate before player trading. Please explain where that shortfall is coming from if it's not the loan. No business can consistently spend more than it earns. Its a simple concept.

I keep hearing this. It's wrong. The interest on the loan is about 10% pa, and to say that the 'TV money' will be set aside for anything is a fallacy. According to people on here, the TV money will pay wages, buy players, and now it'll apparently be saved up to pay a loan in 4 years. The mind boggles. All businesses, and households, have a total income. From that they pay everything. The 'TV money' isn't earmarked for anything. It goes in the income pot which isn't big enough to meet our outgoings - read the accounts. Whether you like to hear it or not, we're screwed financially and need injections of capital to keep going. The loan was last year...it'll need repayment (and the interest serviced) and we'll have the ongoing shortfall to address. Gao ain't got the dollars, tinpot bookmaker sponsors won't address it, continuous loans isn't the solution. Sales are the only solution sadly.

You don't think there's been one? Betty's game for anything, and Wilma has a cheeky little twinkle in her eyes.
-
I think we all need to accept that there'll be a big sale at some point without any reinvestment of the funds...there's no other source of capital to clear down the loan.
-
I'm not his biggest fan, but I wouldn't want to lose him plus the other two in the same window.

Basically twats calling other twats twats, and discussing female sports clothing which reveal their twats. I think.
-
It would leave gaping holes like Shearer, Ruddock and Horne in 1992. Personally, I think Vestergaard and Ings are inevitable if sensible offers come in. JWP is possible if a big offer is received.

Ran off! Double bless. I'll debate away on any subject. What I won't do is get dragged into irrelevant shite, especially with idiots and pedants. Your persona is slipping further btw...the last one was more fun but the irritating side is coming out more.
-
Bless, you're a bit bothered petal aren't you. As for debate, you've had people asking you for weeks to explain your ramblings about covid and you still haven't, then you have the audacity to criticise when people choose not to debate something irrelevant to the thread. Your persona is slipping mate from mental to annoying. Pick a usp and stick with it.

We don't know Gao's motivation, but I'm not persuaded it was anything improper. I think he may have been sold on the idea that we invest well in players, develop youngsters, and then improve the squad by player sales and repeating the process. I doubt wasting £100m plus, and the wages, was ever in the business plan and whatever strategy he had has gone as a consequence of that. Like you, I'm unsure where we go with our wages to turnover rand debt issues. I can only assume there'll be a sale or two without replacement. As shit as that is, I can't see an alternative sadly. Regardless, we are where we are, and the one blessing is that Gao isn't raping and pillaging the club.

Because Matthew, you'll again take a decent thread off on one of your pointless pedantic tangents and bore the fuck out of everyone. If the subject gives you a little twinge and you want to discuss it, by all means start a thread on it.
-
The womble gif shows a self awareness I didn't realise you had. Well done.
-
Have a day off being a prick mate. Anyone other than a class a pedant understands the sustainability to mean financially.
-
I can't be arsed with the fool today. Perhaps he can tell us how he believes the premier league is sustainable.
-
I mean it's not sustainable. Simple concept Matthew
-
I normally agree with you, but can't agree with this. Our position is simple - we reap what we sow, and I'm not sure a) what usp we could have (we're a football club, not a brand), or b) how that helps us live within our limited means. I do agree though that the Premier league is unsustainable...and that kind of makes the point that our get by/make do strategy (it is a strategy) is about the best we can do. Sure, we're fans and all want more, but you can't build a house without cash for bricks.
-
Good post. There shouldn't be any doubt about our strategy - do the best we can with what we've got. Gao can't do anything about the poor decisions made by those employed to make football and contractual decisions, he can't inject cash he ain't got, and can't sell to a non existent buyer. Acceptance of reality rather than unrealistic expectations.
-
I get that, but the issue is a transfer fee to get the full back to pay the wages to.
-
He does, and overall we've been poor at throw ins for quite a while. I can't think of one of our players who looks confident with them.

Ralph is very clear: Discussing Djenepo's recent performances at left-back, Hasenhuttl told the club website: "I think it’s like a bonus that compared to the other number 10s, he can also play in this position. "He is defensively super strong, when he goes and attacks. And with the ball he has shown when he is up the pitch he can dribble inside. "As a full-back, this is a super nasty situation. "I see him there in this season to be honest".
-
No code in there. Very direct - Djenepo is our back up LB. Gulp.
