  1. This lad looks very good. He won't get anywhere near the Chelsea team for a while with Lukaku coming in, so him developing here and giving us a different option is a win/win. He's on 6 year contract so it wouldn't surprise me if this more than a season long loan, or a season with an option to extend.

    Adam Armstrong

The state of you 2 tarts derailing the thread by banging on about Messi, Iniesta etc.

This lad looks decent. Hopefully we can get young Broja in as well to give an alternative option. We've done well this window. Got loads of wages off our books, shifted Ings for top money, done a great bit of business with Livramento, and got a decent LB in too. Nice.
  4. Because he's awful, and he'd be a terrible Ings replacement.
  5. Or Theo gets pushed up top.

    Coronavirus

Since Ragingbull speculated that MLG could be CollinsDic, and I asked MLG whether he is, CollinsDic hasn't been seen seen. Could be a coincidence of course...
  7. Yep, possibly a loan with an option...of another loan. Chelsea will like their players here on loan, Tuchel and Ralph's teams play in a similar way.
  8. The lad isn't likely to make the Chelsea team while lukaku, havertz, pulisic, werner, etc, are there. He's on a very long contract and if we does well here and his path is still blocked there, everyone might want the loan extended.
  9. Ha!!!! It'd probably finish better than Long though, and turn quicker than Vestergaard.
  10. There'll be plans, but plans are contingent on circumstances beyond our control. We always knew Ings was going, the issue then was who to, at what price, and when. If Kane had left spurs, Ings may have gone there earlier. Out of our control. In the end he went to Villa, and the timing of that linked into the sale of Grealish. Also out of our control. When we were in a position to enter the market, so were others. Also out of our control. In addition, some targets will probably have already moved on or otherwise become unavailable. Also out of our control. I once really liked a house that was on the market. Sadly mine hadn't sold before someone else snapped it up. I'd planned to buy it, but alas circumstances worked against me. Football ain't any different.
  11. That's a curveball and I know nothing about him. A loan of a youngster doesn't excite me though as we develop him for them. Loan with an option with a pre agreed price, now that'd be different. I wander if the rumours started from this article. He seems well thought of though - "watching Broja it is clear that he is someone special if given the right chances. Those chances won’t be at Chelsea with Lukaku signing, so it is very important to get him the right loan to develop" is encouraging. https://theprideoflondon.com/2021/08/05/chelsea-decide-tammy-abraham-armando-brojas-futures/amp/
  12. He crossed my mind a while ago. He's got something from what I've seen.
  13. Good post. If we can replace Ings with someone half decent (we won't get as good, that's to be expected) I and can get some decent cover at LB, I think we'll have a pretty decent squad and do OK. If not, I think it'll be a tough slog. Yesterday was a shocker from us, but we've been OK before then, and I don't think we're relegation fodder.
  14. When we went down I enjoyed some of my best years as a fan. Away days at some new grounds where the fans were real fans, seeing us win regularly, the joy of promotion. The home games were great too. Fans knew who the players were, they didn't go after 80 mins to beat the traffic. I wanted us to do well as a club, but having watched us cheat relegation many times, seen the money men take any sense of real competition out of the game, I knew we'd never actually be able to go toe to toe with the big boys. Whilst I'm happy we're a premier league club, I'd still spend my money going to watch us play whatever league we're in. Salford City or Man Utd are both a 200 ish mile drive to watch my team play and have day out.

  16. Remember that game, great debut. My favourite Clarke moment was away at Anfield, probably 87 or thereabouts. Scored a diving header in front of our away corner. 1-1 draw I think.
  17. On the pitch, unfortunately. Feck knows where though.

    Taking the knee

It's you that wrote that it won't solve anything!! I'm not wasting my time debating with abusive people who throw their toys out the pram when their contradictions get highlighted.

    Taking the knee

You really are struggling. You've agreed that it won't "solve anything" yet you persist with saying that it's a good idea to carry on with it. You know that you're contradicting yourself and are having to resort to childish insults. Carry on if you want to treacle, but we both know that you're all punched out.

    Taking the knee

Ah back to the insults. Here's an idea - read your own posts...amongst your words are it's "pointless" and "that it won't solve anything".

    Taking the knee

"You've lost the argument when you resort to insults" is a very true statement. Yes, you can highlight something that's already known but you only need to if it serves a useful purpose. When you've said yourself that it's "pointless" and "that it won't solve anything", and that it leads to white guys seeking to lecture other white guys and hurling insults, I'm really struggling to understand your best point. Deep down, I think you know that you're struggling too.
  22. Vestegaard has a very similar 'knee injury' to JWP I suspect. It's one of those knocks that will suddenly improve either immediately after a transfer, or the transfer window closes.
  23. That's nonsensical to me. Get in position and miss over and over. Pointless. If that was the hallmark of a good striker, we'd all be lauding Long as the saviour but we're not as he always misses, thus he's a shit striker.
  24. Yep. It's atrocious. I'd have preferred to have kept and played N'lundulu. And he's shit.
  25. I'm not that there's much to debate. Your Shane Long point is correct - a strikers primary job as to be able to finish. Anything less and they're a poor striker.
