  2. You can't judge MP's on parliament attendance alone. Spending time with constituents, lobbying and working on their behalf, supporting businesses in their communities, etc, is much more beneficial to those they represent than sitting in the back benches for PMQ's or a debate on something that they will support anyway.
  3. Kids computer games aren't what they used to be. In "theme Park" back in the day you could put extra salt on the chips to make the punters buy extra soft drinks, which you could water down to make more profit. 35 years later you'd have thought they'd have 1, 2 or 3 ply bog roll option in the toilets, and bungs to agents etc to add a bit of reality.
  4. I trust the ads emphasise the equal opportunities to all applicants?
  5. You mean it's not a feature already? Pah.

  7. Yes...I'm sure you can you too...agents...stoking up interest...leverage...pay rise...loyalty bonus...cut of the spoils/fee.
  8. Cheers, got to admit, that passed me by. The whole thing is a bit of a car crash.

  10. In the summer I'd have paid for his taxi up there, but credit to him, he's got us playing this season, sorted the defence, and shown more tactical flexibility. Yep. I'm fickle, but on recent performances, I'd want him to stay. If he's offered a massive pay hike, money for transfers, and still plenty of autonomy, I wouldn't be surprised if he was tempted though.
  11. Maybe, but it got so little attention so as to not to be understood as a problem on this scale.
  12. It was given very limited focus, and certainly not with any detail. Had the issues that now present themselves were put out there, I think it would have made a significant difference.
  13. Is that a serious question?

  15. I'm with you on the variety of ways point, but let's not be dismissive of two of those ways.
  16. Why resist the urge? Aren't we back to pride and ego?
  17. Sure, I've boxed all my life, and have used the punchbag as a release of frustration and anger. If that's not used, or speaking, what then, bottle it up? Drink? Self harm? Worse? We're still seemingly at the point on here that "men are men" so should just suck it up and get on it.
  18. Stay on subject. At a funeral and you felt like crying, would you be conscious of it and fight it, or let it out?
  19. Sog's point is a good one though, men get ridiculed for showing emotion, thus does it not follow that they'll bottle up negative feelings and suffer in silence? Isn't it better out than in?
  20. Yep. Ralph crying ain't a sign of a mental attitude illness or weakness. It's a bloke showing his emotions. What I disagree with is criticism of him for displaying his emotions. Crying isn't necessary, but if that's his reaction, it's nobody else's business.
  21. True, and relating that to MH and self improvement, the 7 sins all provide an opposite which are no bad thing for us to strive for in how we live our lives...we're all guilty of at least a part of some of them in our lives.

  23. I should have thought of that when I typed my last post...red rag to a bull in hindsight!
  24. I'm of the view that much of the bible stuff isn't intended to be a factual reference, rather a way of getting thoughts and principles across. It's the whole forgiveness from jesus thing that I struggle with though. I make mistakes, we all do, that's human nature. What I want to do is develop as a person by learning from mistakes, not dwelling on them until I get forgiveness.
  25. I wasn't thinking about comparison to others, rather that the day before has gone, so live in the present day. His point seems to be that if you were decent yesterday, but not so today, then be the person to were yesterday. The flip of that is that if you were shite yesterday, trying to replicate that ain't a good idea and neither is dwelling on it. The obvious middle ground is reflection on it and learning. I'll take a look at his stuff and I'm intrigued to know what he says about the bible - I have certain views on God but I'm not religious and struggle with the Christian view on forgiveness, I'm more about learning from life, changing and developing. I'll check this guy out.
