I've not heard of any club limiting furloughed staff pay to the 80% given by the government. If staff are getting just the 80%, and the players the full 100%, that's unacceptable. However, the principle of clubs furloughing staff, topping up the 20% is not something I have an issue with personally. If you say football clubs shouldn't do it, what other businesses do you exclude? The answer is no businesses, the furlough program is available across the board.
-
That is frightening. Our testing across the board is atrocious. Is it as simple as the likes of the USA buying up the available test kits and we're getting scraps?
-
Oh come on, you've gone off at a tangent and completely swerved my point. I agree that footballers should take some financial pain, the haves absolutely should in order to avoid the haves nots suffering financially. Explain how a furloughed football club employee getting full wage (80% from the government and 20% from the employer) is prejudiced by being furloughed. All businesses are taking advantage of the scheme. Football clubs can so why shouldn't they.
-
Are you saying that football clubs, and their employees, should not be treated the same as other companies and their employees? If so, please explain w why they should be treated different to every other business/employee.
-
2 separate issues for me. Any business not taking the opportunity to furlough staff who cannot work are nuts. Bournemouth are paying the additional element so their staff are on full pay, but the jobs are still there in due course. Whilst being furloughed, the staff will have the opportunity to take on additional work if they wish to do their bit and earn more. I can't see any benefit to the Bournemouth staff of receiving full pay outside of furlough. As for footballers, they should absolutely be willing to take a pay freeze or trim at this time in order to help keep the clubs sustainable.

Jeez. The man is unreal.
-
Jeez, not very inspiring. I wandered why Germany had a much lower death rate than us.
-
Not a bad idea that although with champions league etc and domestic cups it'd be difficult but could be made to work. I'm with you on favouring domestic football over internationals - if something has to give its internationals for me.

Where do the euros fit in?

The injury was horrendous. Had a spell at Havant and Waterlooville in the conference south recently and he couldn't get a game there. Real shame, a lovely lad by all accounts and talented, but it just hasn't worked out for him.
-
Yep. Couldn't have been clearer.
-
That's more like it. We've shown ourselves to be a nation of divs so the decision had to be imposed on us.
-
It has to. Remarkably, many people just don't get it. It's a shame the government have to do that but there are so many imbeciles out there it's inevitable.

You wanted a debate. You got one. You then ignore questions when you're cornered. I'll ask one last time. How are you or anyone else impacted by my neighbour praying as set out above. If the answer is you're/they're not (that is the answer by the way) then have the grace to say so. I've answered your question. Because you don't like the answer, it doesn't mean it hasn't been answered. Your other points are daft and I'm going around the houses with you. Simply though, some people pray cos it gives them some comfort and guidance. They also acknowledge that prayer won't treat coronavirus, headache, toothache or whatever. Your point comes down to your own beliefs. You seem to think that it's prayer or science, and that those who pray believe that it has to be one or the other.
-
No no no. You're not ducking this one mate. Your point is that other people's prayers per se impact on others, you included. I've given you a prayer scenario. Tell me how that impacts you or others. Or retract your point. Medicine is medicine and is needed. I don't know anyone who prays that it's a substitute for medical assistance or medicine. It seems that you have a misguided view that all those who pray do so for themselves and that prayer is the solution to every issue in life. Now back to my neighbour...
-
Jeez. So think all people who pray turn into retards? Let's assume she's not an idiot who does what you suggest and us not praying for that. Let's assume that she's praying for some direction on how she can be of help to others. That may give her peace and comfort. She may be accepting all the government advice and following it. How does her praying impact you or anyone else?
-
Stay on your point. You claim that my neighbour praying to something that she calls god impacts others. Explain in words of one syllable how it impacts a) you or b) anyone else. Give actual hypothetical examples, not waffle.
-
The issue is how it impacts you. The answer it doesn't. It has nothing to do with you. At all.
-
So my neighbour praying to a god of her understanding impacts other people in your view. Give me f*cking strength.
