Absolutely. An alcoholic will drink because he's an alcoholic. A compulsive gambler will gamble because he's a compulsive gambler. Adverts have nothing to do with it.

What's your theory on why they're saying it? To my mind, it should be second jabs for those who've had first, then crack on pretty much. There has to be a reason why that's not happening and we're being told to brace for another round.
-
I can only assume they're fearing a new dominant variant that'll circulate amongst the unvaccinated causing a wave there, and possibly also bypassing the vaccine in those who've been vaccinated. Nothing else makes sense.
-
That's a point I hadn't appreciated. If its not the issue, most of the vulnerable have had the first vaccine, and it's hard to see a case for fearing a 3rd wave once they've had the second jab. I can only guess its a concern about loads of cases amongst the unvaccinated and/or variants slipping past the vaccine.

I'm not looking forward to the twice weekly prostate tests.
-
No idea mate. If so, that may explain it though.
-
Chile are fucked again and they've had a higher vaccine roll out than us. Whether it's a variant bypassing the vaccine, or a surge amongst the unvaccinated proportion I don't know, but it ain't good.

Ha!! Merely mimicking the "controlled" poster.
-
Everyone repeat after me: "The mentalists have convinced themselves that this is all about social control".
-
There'd be some point to you dredging up posts from months ago if you were saying back then that he'd be a good signing. Don't get me wrong, you may have done, but I ain't bothering to look.

I didn't think this thread could get any weirder, but we're now onto eyes and giraffe anatomy. Oh my days 😂

And others do. The problem though, is that you're incapable of respecting an opposing opinion to your own and keeping quiet about it. A wise man once said that opinion is the lowest form of human knowledge. It requires no accountability, no understanding. The highest form of knowledge is empathy, as it requires us to suspend our egos and live in anothers world. Get over yourself.
-
Agreed. Dunno why, but I think there'll be goals galore, something like 4-1 to us.

Not one person on here has been "cheering on restrictions" or been calling for lockdown. As for this "control the people" nonsense, behave. There's not one person who wants lockdown. Not one. We've all but vaccinated the vulnerable. Get them out of the way and for me it's open season, open stadiums, etc. As for paying for this, yep, of course we will and our kids. That's inevitable You criticise the manaus picture, but it highlights where we may have been if we hadn't locked down. You can't have open season without having a manaus, and I'm not sure if you're suggesting a) we could have stayed open and somehow avoided absolute carnage or b) we should have stayed open and tolerated the carnage, but both options are a nuts.
-
Yep!! Saved me a few quid too.

Just under 50 and I've had my first jab as have others in my immediate family. I'm meeting friends today for a walk who've all had first vaccine. That's a different ball game to opening footy stadiums to cram thousands in which is what this thread is supposed to be about. I hope your friend is OK.
-
You're almost correct. Selfish is thinking of ourselves, not others. Thinking if others is the polar opposite of selfish. If I wanted restrictions for my benefit, that would be selfish. Personally, I don't want or need anyone else to be protected to benefit me. Needing restrictions for the benefit of others is a different matter.

I'd expect something more realistic from you than that comment. Other than the Scottish NHS, there aren't too many employers who are or can give above inflation pay rises. Finding another job on better terms is far from simple for most.
-
Ha!! I'm back working, out and about with friends and living life, but I'm not one of those selfish people that only thinks about the impact on me.
