Not at all mate. One thing I don't do is worry - it's the most futile waste of energy. Write down how many issues in your life have been solved by worry! Instead, I do what I can to help myself.

I'm not running through an inventory of my cleaning standards and approach. I'm happy that I'm keeping myself and my family as safe as possible. I'd rather that than pretend I'm some pseudo expert - I mean no disrespect, but you appear to believe that you have more knowledge and expertise than I suspect you do on this and any subject you discuss.

I take shoes off outside and leave them there and use just outside. A simple measure, and preferable to your DIY vaccination attempt.

So you're assuming that walking through virus droplets and transferring them to our homes presents a prospect of vaccination. I'd prefer to work on the assumption that it presents a risk of infection and act accordingly.

What are you basing your opinion on?

I'm surprised we aren't doing it. People cough outside, lands on road/pavement, stays there, people walk through it, tread it into house. I think people are underestimating how long the virus can live for.

  9. It goes further than the "backs against wall" bit. He went on to say : "I can only speak for myself but I would have no problems whatsoever contributing any of my wages to people who are fighting this on the front line and to people who have been affected by what's happening at the minute." That suggests to me that he's up for some sort of contribution or donation, not a willingness to take a pay cut per se. Further, I'm sensing a lack of understanding of why footballers are in the firing line.

I doubt there'll be anything fair for employees across the States, just laid off or dismissed. The numbers on furlough will be eye wateringly high. Without that scheme I'd be surprised if we weren't recording close or a 7 figure job loss count. I've Just read 900k job losses in Spain.

Feck me, the arguing on here is pathetic. Its a real shame that another thread is being taken the usual path by the usual people. Spare a thought please guys for those of us that want to check into a thread to discuss important not stuff about a virus which is effecting all our lives in one way or another. In terms of the ongoing spat, it's fair to say that none of you have a clue. None of us do, and your bickering ain't gonna create testing kits! It's an utterly, utterly pointless exchange and I doubt I'm not the only one who would rather you do it by pm on a thread on an extremely important matter. In actual news, the BAT vaccine development is very real, and comforting. https://www.theguardian.com/business/2020/apr/01/british-american-tobacco-plant-based-coronavirus-vaccine

  17. I understand all that, but I don't get this point that cos players cant realistically be furloughed, and aren't putting their hands up for a cut, that football clubs shouldn't be able to do what every other business is able to do and furlough staff who can't work at the moment. The staff are not prejudiced by being furloughed. Indeed, the opposite could be the case - I know people who are under furlough who are loving the opportunity to do other jobs and helping out in places where help is needed.
  18. I've not heard of any club limiting furloughed staff pay to the 80% given by the government. If staff are getting just the 80%, and the players the full 100%, that's unacceptable. However, the principle of clubs furloughing staff, topping up the 20% is not something I have an issue with personally. If you say football clubs shouldn't do it, what other businesses do you exclude? The answer is no businesses, the furlough program is available across the board.

That is frightening. Our testing across the board is atrocious. Is it as simple as the likes of the USA buying up the available test kits and we're getting scraps?
  20. Oh come on, you've gone off at a tangent and completely swerved my point. I agree that footballers should take some financial pain, the haves absolutely should in order to avoid the haves nots suffering financially. Explain how a furloughed football club employee getting full wage (80% from the government and 20% from the employer) is prejudiced by being furloughed. All businesses are taking advantage of the scheme. Football clubs can so why shouldn't they.
  21. Are you saying that football clubs, and their employees, should not be treated the same as other companies and their employees? If so, please explain w why they should be treated different to every other business/employee.
  22. 2 separate issues for me. Any business not taking the opportunity to furlough staff who cannot work are nuts. Bournemouth are paying the additional element so their staff are on full pay, but the jobs are still there in due course. Whilst being furloughed, the staff will have the opportunity to take on additional work if they wish to do their bit and earn more. I can't see any benefit to the Bournemouth staff of receiving full pay outside of furlough. As for footballers, they should absolutely be willing to take a pay freeze or trim at this time in order to help keep the clubs sustainable.
