What’s the point of posting this? Like did you watch the game?
-
Was that a foul? Never left a stadium feeling this cheated but think Elyounoussi must have stood on his foot from the on screen replay? Regardless, shock horror we are shit. Diallo is horrendous, get that bloke in from Lecce ASAP
-
Sent this to my mate who's a Fener fan and his words were "Omg yes please, was worried we were gonna take that donkey for 10m".
-
I remember watching him vs Switzerland in the WC and thinking he was comfortably the worst player on the pitch, could adapt quickly.
-
Chris Wood going Forest on loan, few on here will be annoyed at that (even though he's utter shite).
-
Sky reporting this link now as well. Although Lyall did tell us Alcaraz was a striker who was at Staplewood whilst he was in Argentina so pinch of salt.

I like the sound of this one. Captains his team at 23. 6’1 too so a bit of necessary height. I like the system we’re currently running but I do feel that Diallo is a weak spot in the team. Coupling that up with the fact that a Lavia injury at the moment would essentially confirm relegation, this is the position I’d want us to pursue the most outside a striker. His defensive stats (below) compared to the rest of Serie A midfielders are pretty incredible. Would also perhaps be useful to get somebody in 6 months early as the more negative side of me is already worried at Chelsea seemingly loitering around Lavia, mixed in with Boehly’s incredibly happy trigger finger. I’d guess Rice was their first choice but their inevitable lack of Top 4 will probably see him go to Arsenal and Romeo be their next choice up.

I do agree, but your entire post hinges on it being Jackson and a striker. Obviously that could well be the case but I think most of us are sceptical about the chances of that after NJ's latest comments. "I didn't say we were looking for a number nine, I said we were looking for more attacking potency. Whether that's a number nine, whether that's a wide player, or whatever it is. We want to add aggression, pace, power, and quality." I think most have looked at that and deduced that it will in fact just be Jackson now, hence the concerns.
-
6 in 11 in the CL last year as well as 10 in 23 La Liga games is certainly more of a pedigree.
-
An immediate £20m on Jackson is made somewhat weirder by the fact that Danjuma appears to be heading to Everton or Bournemouth on loan with an option.
-
My main issue is the sudden jump from “option-to-buy” which is the perfect deal for this kind of risky move.

Looks a really disappointing move on the face of things. Fingers crossed the guy is more ready than it appears.

I'd be gobsmacked if anyone didn't want Ings to come back, for any purely footballing reasons. We're not in a position to be gambling on this position, and Ings is the smallest gamble you can take at this current moment. According to transfermarkt, he hasn't missed a game due to injury since January 2021. Even if you're a little sceptical of that (as am I, can't say I'm that clued up on Villa), he's only been out of the Villa squad just once this season, and 5 times the season before. That isn't screaming injury prone like people are making out whilst trying to discourage this move. He's averaging a goal every 136 minutes in the league this season. I'll always be disappointed if he left, but I can't blame him too much with the structure of the club at that point. If he's wanting to come back (not that we know yet, but a few posters seem to have alluded to it already) then we would be absolutely mental not to pursue this. I absolutely think this signing keeps us up, if it's possible.
-
Interesting timing! Here's the bit specific to Ings - Would like to think we'd be all over it if it's anywhere around £10m.
-
Completely agree that his ego wouldn’t allow him to come back here and admit he wasn’t good enough for that move. Would take him a heartbeat however. If he’s £10-15m, he has a better chance of keeping us up than most, especially with the lack of time needed to adapt unlike somebody such as Moffi or Beto. Never saw the Alfie House link, but not sure it’s worth this much conversation just based off a loose link by Crook.

Happy to be wrong my friend
