This is silly though. We play Forest H, Everton A & Villa H in January. If we haven't brought anyone in to have an impact in those three massive games then they've already fucked up.

If there's even a glimmer of a chance that Ings would come here, in particular on a loan deal with a fee, then we have to throw everything at it.

He did indeed, on a nice give and go. He definitely looks like one of those Championship strikers who are more suited to the step up. Think Everton and Wolves are pretty heavily linked right now though.

Think I'd like us to go for Gyökeres. I know we've been burnt by Championship strikers recently but it's realistically still one of the best routes for us. Seems to be a pretty strong consensus that he's the best striker in the Championship right now, so even if he doesn't help keep us up it could still benefit us next year. Although it does look like the entire bottom half of the Prem are interested going off Twitter.

I don't agree with this. I do think a good January could keep us up, but I just don't think we're capable of it. We need a goalscoring winger, a striker and probably an 8 at a minimum. I think we'll stick with McCarthy & Bazunu so no point hoping for something there. I think Che and Edozie with two better players around them could be decent enough to give us somewhat of a chance.

Our goalkeeper is shit? What on earth do you think? He's made 3/4 clear cut conceding mistakes and had about 8/9 go past him which looked shaky as well.

Terrible game. Was saying all along in here that it's all well and good wanting Ralph out but what was next? This team is going down without a fight. Not got the resources to change it in January. Our only good player is a kid from Man City thrown in at the deep end. Not the worst keeper in the league, the other one.

I don't disagree with your other takeaways, but AMN in particular was disgraceful on Tuesday. Couldn't trap a ball and the passing was an absolute shambles. AMN in over Lavia brings our chances of winning Boxing Day down to about 10%.
