  1. What a load of tosh ! The fans need to back Adkins. A few wins and all will be sweet starting against Spurs !
  2. Good question. I think NA should at least be given to Christmas. Hoddle has the experience and tactical astuteness but he has not managed a premier team for some time. In all honesty, I am not sure that the relegation battle is coming as a surprise to the board and we could stick with NA long term as I really do believe we have a yoyo strategy.
  3. Well, it seems Hoddle could be coming back after a long absence. He could save the club as he would have done in 2004 but for the vocal minority. I would like to state now that I am still backing Adkins, but if Hoddle did come back and rescue the club I will have the mother of all bragging rights ! Ten years of them !!!
  4. I am glad that I have backed Adkins to the hilt. The bedwetters and panic merchants should be ashamed of calling for the sack of NA !
  5. I don't know why people are so depressed. I have said consistently that we got promoted earlier than expected and thus we were not ready for promotion in terms of our sustainable 5 year plan. Sure, we are giving it a good go this year but the club IMO always saw relegation as about a 70% possibility. We have seen how clubs can build gradually using the prmeier money in the NPC and become a yoyo club and then finally consolidate in the Premier league. Sit back and relax. we are ok.
  6. You are joking. I pointed out this fact not only this summer but the previous summer but the truth hurts and it is easy to ridicule people personally. Mind, i would howl with ironic laughter at the vocal few if Hoddle was re-appointed !
  7. Are you me in disguise, did you come through a tear in the time zone ?
  8. Despite what you might think I do not think Glenn Hoddle would be the answer to SFC just now. 2004, was a differnt matter. The faliure to re-appoint Hoddle then ranks as one of the biggest mistake the board made, closely followed by bowing to the vocal minority !
  9. Player without fear. Attack attack attack !
  10. Well I'm backing NA for reasons stated.
  11. Keep plugging away and relax. I think if the players and fans get too anxious we will not play freely and will continue to make mistakes.
  12. I am surprised that people are surprised about our lowly league position. I don't think the board are surprised or worried at all as we have a number of plans in place including taking relegation inot account.
  13. Agree with this post. The silent majority however need to speak up. We failed to do so in 2004 and instead of Hoddle being appointed we threw away our 26 year in the top league and allowed the 'lunatics to take over the asylum'
  14. I know, ironically I think last season was originally plan as a consolidation and strengthening season. As you know I predicted 17th whic was tad on the low side but my overall analysis was as usual spot on ! Having siad that, you can't blame the club for taking advantage of our great start last season and we got lucky with the January transfer window.
  15. One Dalek siad that we would follow a 'yoyo' strategy and that Dalek put his cards on the table well before anyone else had the guts to even look at the table !
  16. We don't have a major problem in the context of our overall strategy to be a self financing top 2 division club. It would be desirable to stay in the premier league this season but NOT essential. I am sure that we had a contingency for the likelihood of relegation and it is called the 'yoyo' strategy. I told you all about this in the early summer and i am being proven to be 100% correct in my evaluation.
  17. NA would be one of the best equipped managers to take us down and back up again as he did with S****horpe. BTW, Htoo late for Hoddle to save us, we missed that chance in 2004.
  18. The fact is that we have always been employing the 'yoyo' strategy. Of course it is to early for NA and NC to admit this and while we have a chance of staying up this is wise. However, when we are adrift at the bottom of the league, the plan will be revealed and this should raise morale at the club and with the supporters. We can rest easy that our lack of activity in the summer transfer market was indeed all part of a prudent businees plan to benefit from the Premier money. I cannot see why it was not obvious to more people, I had sussed it out back in May June.
  19. Good to see the vast majority backing NA. All the bedwetters need to calm down and relax ! I have said since promotion that we are employing a 'yoyo' strategy and if so, NA can get us promoted again. I am being proven correct on this one and although I made a mistake last season about 17th, we will never get as lucky as last season again. I expect more and more and more people will end up conceeding that the Dalek was again right and remember my prediction in 2004 that the failure to appoint an experienced manager, in the guise of Hodlle, would see the collapse of the club.
  20. We need to stick with NA. Reality check time. We are in the Premier League. When we get relegated we will recieve a handsome parchute payment. We will bounce right back and be better off. We have always had in mind to follow the 'yoyo' strategy that I have benn telling you about for a long time. Stay cool, this season is not important in the grand scheme of things.
  21. People need to calm down. NA, like Sturrock in 2004, has had no experience in the Premier league. However, I can see no reason dumping him now. We were modest in our transfer ambitions over the summer as we wher the year before. However, this time we are not so lucky and are being found out. Having said that i am convinced that we have always been happy to adopt the 'yoyo' policy this year and will bounce back next year. Lets look at the evidence. We still have Billy Sharpe on our books and we can always get back a bit on Ramirez. Jayrod is one for next year and we have a really good young goal keeoer, No, I predicted this would happen way back in May and I am being proved right as i was in 2004 when I said it was madness to allow a few fans influence our decision to appoint a League 1 manager over one of Englands most successful managers.
  22. Oh dear. Five Live reports 'Southampton's world has fallen apart'. Still think of the Prem money we get even if relegated. I am sure the yoyo strategy was always considered. Obvious to me.
  23. Time for some nuns.
  24. Ha, I had been warning about complaceny in the transfer window all through the summer as was the year before, which we just got away with !
  25. Ok....really looking forward to this now. NA must have a good reason for putting Lambert on the bench, it could be a make or break decision. Can only hope it somehow unsettles FaT Sam's tactics as I am sure he has been working on stopping Lambo. Intriguing !
