  1. I am not sure of the detail, but we should start with a positive attacking line up. Play without fear. Big game for KD, if he fails this time then change the GK.
  2. Glenn Hoddle springs to mind.
  3. This is what happened with Luggy from the day he walked in. trouble was the players were expecting the appointment of the experienced and proven Glenn Hoddle and Luggy could never compete. Still we have the vocal minority to thank for that unhappy episdoe.
  4. Not fun going down, but great bouncing back. I have a friend who is a 'Baggy' and they loved it !
  5. Post of the week !
  6. Exactly. We have invested in young players, who may well stay and if not we will have the money to replace them. We will probably have to sell Ramirez and Lallan but will get our money back, no doubt. Enjoy the ride...and who knows we may just keep our premier status. If I was NA, I would say 'play without fear' !
  7. All these bed wetters ! Think, we lose our premier status.....so what We are a club with NO debt. We have a talented team of YOUNG Players. We have a manager who has got us promoted twice and can do it again. We have a Swiss family who are backing the club all the awy. We are not them down the road. Perspective please. Hold your nerve and stop this ridiculous bedwetting !!!!
  8. Yes !
  9. This season we must experiment with some of our fringe players. Maybe see how KD gets on against Villa first.
  10. Bill Shankly used to say you build a team by starting with the GK and then working your way up. In the early days Liverpool were well known for grinding out 1-0 wins and very rarely lost by more than one goal. We did not strengthen well enough but it was right for SFC not to be held to ransom over players that would be a short term fix. The 'YOYO' plan is the right way forward.
  11. I think Adkins will stay if we get relegated and will take us up again like he did with S****horpe.
  12. The money we have spent is an investment fopr the future regarless of what league we are in next year. We are building a team for the future we are not going to be governed by shirt term fixes.
  13. We are in the premier league now.
  14. By the end of the season you will all be buying into the 'YOYO' policy because it will not be me that is telling you about it it. No, it will be SFC official line. However, you will remember that i was the one that told you first way back in late May.
  15. Alpine, you fail to see the bigger objective. To develop the club in the long term with young talent and most of all TO AVOID SHORT TERM FIXES AND DEBT LIKE THEM DOWN THE ROAd. We are OK and have it covered.
  16. We are not in debt. If we get relegated we will have the money and players to get us straight back up. We are following the yoyo strategy. We will give it our best this year, but staying up is a bonus and going down is not a tragedy. I have said it since May, it was obvious in the way we conducted ourselves in the transfer market. We are investing in the long term with good young players and in sustainable way. Enjoy the ride and get behind the team !
  17. When in the NPC, I think it is common knowledge that I have been talking about the yoyo strategy. BTW have you found the prrof yet to your other assertion ? Of course not.
  18. No need to panic or get disheartened. * we have played three very good teams. Defeat was always on the cards. * The defeat against Wigan was the worst of the 4 defeats, but it happens. * we have a five year plan and we have not spent money on short term signings, if we get relegated we will have it covered as part of our 'yoyo' strategy * it was obvious to me that although we would give consolidation in the premier league a good try our real aim was to build for the future with young talent, if necessary take relegation and copme up again stronger. * we ARE following a yoyo strategy and i said it months ago.
  19. I hadn't thought about that.
  20. Which would have happened in 2004 if we had appointed Hoddle, who had the status and experience to ensure our premiership status, but instead we went for a League 1 turnip field worker.
  21. You want to look at your own response before you go all 'high and mighty' !
  22. Forget Manure and ManCiteh, the game that worried me most was our defeat to Wigan at home. Let's make our judgements when we play teams in mid to lower table. That will be a much more realistic test as to the Saints team ability to cut it in the Premiership.
  23. Unimaginative and lacking the tradition of Saints. Not worth buying imo
  24. Hmmmm, almost favour plan B over Plan A ! Can't we just get on with getting relegated LOL !
  25. Fits in with my thoughts completely. of course we will give it a go. But, we won't risk the club financially and very wisely we have a very good plan B should we get relegated. No, we should enjoy this season whatever the outcome because we have it covered !
